Chapter 69

Wei Sen ignored the two of them. Beside her, Xu You made a show of counting on her fingers, then clasped her hands behind her back and said, “Today is inauspicious for making friends. Thanks, though.”

“You!” He Xu sucked in a breath, then shook her head with a smile. “It’s fine. When you need to go through higher-level doors, you’ll come looking for us sooner or later.”

Seeing that Xu You had no intention of adding them as friends, and that Wei Sen clearly had no plans to accept either, Lin Xiaoxue politely declined as well. “I’m too weak. I’d only drag you down if I followed you. Once I make it onto the Hero Ranking someday, I’ll come find you to team up!”

He Xu’s smile nearly slipped.

Did they really think just anyone could get on the Hero Ranking?

After thinking for a moment, Huang Xinze stepped forward and tapped Zhou Jie’s watch. “Come on, come on, let’s add each other. After all, adding your girl wouldn’t be very gentlemanly of me.”

Zhou Jie clenched his fist, pressed his lips into a thin line, and accepted Huang Xinze’s friend request. Then he declared, “Kid, I’ll carry her for free. If you want me to carry you, you’ll have to beg.”

“Heh, brother.” Huang Xinze stepped closer. At over 1.8 meters tall, he somehow radiated an inexplicable pressure standing beside Zhou Jie, who was under 1.7 meters. Leaning by his ear, he said, “You know what adding a friend is good for? If you die, I can see it.”

“You little-!” Zhou Jie abruptly clenched his fist.

“Brother Jie! The Red Door has appeared!” He Xu called out to Zhou Jie at just the right moment.

Everyone looked over. Countless Red Door portals had appeared at random across the plaza, and the people who had been lingering there all chose the nearest Red Door and left the Origin Land.

After an Order Keeper entered a Red Door, that Red Door would vanish as well.

As Wei Sen watched the scene, she thought of Bai Xue in the Zhihui Primary School Instance. Back then, they had also left through a Red Door.

So this kind of door didn’t only appear in the Origin Land. If they saw one inside an Eerie Entity Instance, it would also be a safe exit!

“Let’s go.” He Xu linked her arm through Zhou Jie’s.

Zhou Jie shot Huang Xinze a vicious glare. “Kid, I’ll be waiting for you in an Instance!”

Huang Xinze gave a roguish grin and said nothing.

Xia Susu swept her gaze over everyone, flicked the loose hair in front of her forehead, and said, “Bye, everyone. I doubt we’ll ever get the chance to meet again.”

“As if anyone cares about meeting you,” Lin Xiaoxue muttered.

Xia Susu ignored her. Still immersed in the joy of latching onto a powerful backer, she turned and chose the nearest Red Door as well.

Huang Xinze looked toward Wei Sen and the others. “We should go too, before we miss the departure window and have no idea how long we’ll have to wait. Once we’re back in the Real World, how about we all get together?”

“Won’t we all receive another Invitation and meet at Sister CC’s place again?” Lin Xiaoxue asked in confusion.

Wei Sen looked at Huang Xinze, who also had confusion written all over his face. “No, seriously, who exactly is this Sister CC? Why didn’t she send me an Invitation last time? What if I don’t get one again this time? Let’s set a place first and meet up together.”

“All right. You choose the place,” Wei Sen replied.

As for why Huang Xinze hadn’t been invited last time, she happened to be puzzled about that too.

“Let me think. Let’s meet in the Central District. No matter where everyone is, going there should definitely be the closest!” Huang Xinze said enthusiastically.

Wei Sen and the others looked at one another.

“The Central District… where is that?” Xu You asked with a frown. She had traveled all over the country, yet she truly had never been to a place like that.

Huang Xinze stared at them in astonishment. “You don’t know the Central District??”

“No… What city is it in?” Lin Xiaoxue asked blankly.

“No, what district are you in?” Huang Xinze asked. “I’m in District 23.”

“Two?”

“Ten?”

“Three?”

The three of them looked at one another again.

“What province and city are you in?” Xu You asked.
Huang Xinze’s eyes were full of confusion. “What provinces and cities? It’s not like we’re in the Eerie World. I’m in District 23. Which district are you in? I’ll just come find you!”

“Are you in Dragon Nation?”

“Are you in Civilization City?”

Xu You and Huang Xinze spoke at the same time.

“Where is Civilization City?”

“Where is Dragon Nation?”

The two of them asked in perfect sync.

Lin Xiaoxue blinked, looking suspiciously at Wei Sen. “Sister Sen, something’s not right here.”

“It definitely isn’t,” Wei Sen thought.

“There isn’t something going on between them, is there?” Lin Xiaoxue scratched her head and muttered to herself.

Wei Sen automatically ignored Lin Xiaoxue’s words. She looked at Huang Xinze with suspicion and said, “You and us… we’re not from the same world.”

Huang Xinze laughed despite himself. “What, am I an alien or something?”

“What year are you in right now?” Wei Sen asked.

“2102. June 10th.”

“The time matches.” Xu You looked at Wei Sen in confusion.

Huang Xinze was clearly their teammate, yet he had never received an Invitation from The Organization.

None of them had ever heard of the District 23 or Civilization City he mentioned.

And the most suspicious thing of all was that he had never even heard of Dragon Nation?!

As long as they were on the same Earth, even if he was a foreigner, there was no way he would never have heard of Dragon Nation!

“The Red Door won’t stay open for long. Let’s leave first. Give us your phone number. We’ll contact you once we’re out,” Wei Sen said.

“Sure! 133****3219!”

Before the Red Door disappeared, everyone chose the nearest door and left the Origin Land one after another.

Wei Sen was the last to go. Just as she opened the Red Door and was about to leave, she heard a commotion coming from the edge of the plaza.

Many people who had been about to leave abandoned their doors without even a second of hesitation.

“Legend Lin!”

“It’s Legend Lin!”

“Hurry!”

The last time Wei Sen had seen a scene like this was half a year ago, when she had happened to run into a celebrity traveling by the roadside.

Everyone was rushing toward the outside of the plaza. Wei Sen couldn’t see what the person surrounded in the middle looked like at all.

But from what they were saying, the person who had appeared over there was none other than Lin Ze, the number one on the Hero Ranking.

Wei Sen was interested too. She wanted to see what kind of person could dominate the rankings by such an overwhelming margin and hold the top spot for so long.

But then she noticed that the Red Door in front of her was gradually turning transparent. If she missed this window, who knew how long she would have to wait for the next Red Door to appear?

Wei Sen weighed it over and temporarily gave up on satisfying her curiosity.

After all…

If this Lin Ze was smart enough and stayed on the ranking long enough, perhaps one day she would be able to meet him face-to-face at the very top.

Right now, so many Order Keepers were rushing over to surround him. It would not be a wise choice for her to go over too.

With that thought, Wei Sen resolutely stepped into the Red Door.

Morning light fell across her face. Wei Sen opened her eyes and found herself back in her familiar bedroom.

The time on her phone screen…

It was less than half an hour apart from the time she had woken up after leaving the Zhihui Primary School Instance last time.

Wei Sen picked up her phone and quickly dialed Huang Xinze’s number.

“Sorry, the number you have dialed does not exist. Please check the number and try again.”

Wei Sen searched on WeChat as well, but still found nothing.

Huang Xinze had no reason to give them a wrong number.

And he had clearly said it was June 10th, 2102.

The time matched. Aside from geography, his understanding of the world seemed to be the same as theirs too.

Could Huang Xinze really not be in this world?

Wei Sen walked to the window and looked out at the bustling traffic of the city.

Then what exactly was this world she was in?
