Chapter 54
Chapter 54
Lin Xiaoxue snapped her diary shut, and Wei Sen looked over warily as well.
At some point, a boy of thirteen or fourteen had appeared in the aisle. He was short, with a buzz cut, and his eyes held a calm, pensive depth far beyond his years.
Wei Sen noticed that the boy was also wearing an Order Keeper watch. She asked, “Who are you?”
“Oh, I’m Zhu Zhaoyang,” the boy introduced himself.
Xu You leaned in when she heard that. “He’s actually just a little brat?! How old are you?”
“Thirteen.”
“Thirteen… You’re only in middle school, right?!” Lin Xiaoxue said in shock.
“Yeah.” Zhu Zhaoyang nodded. After being questioned in turn by several older girls, he seemed a lot more obedient.
“My seat is 42F. 43F is behind me. The group chat said to meet at 43F, so why did you come straight to me?” Wei Sen stared directly into Zhu Zhaoyang’s eyes.
Even if he was a child, she couldn’t let her guard down.
After all, he had cleared three Instances in a row. Even his original six teammates had all died, yet he had survived!
Zhu Zhaoyang blinked innocently and said, “I was sitting in the aisle seat in row five. I saw the few of you chatting just now, so it wasn’t hard to guess that everyone here was a teammate from Group A.”
“You’re so smart, little brat!” Xu You praised him.
“I also paid attention for a bit just now, so I know where the people from Group B are too,” Zhu Zhaoyang added.
“Oh?” Wei Sen looked at the little boy before her with new respect.
Zhu Zhaoyang pointed toward the first two rows. One of the people there was holding a yellow flag and had stood up, seemingly saying something to the others.
“It’s them. They look like they’re from a travel agency. But there are only six of them in total, so I still don’t know who the last member of Group B is.”
Although they were somewhat far away, Wei Sen had no trouble recognizing that the person holding the yellow flag, who looked like a tour guide, was wearing an Order Keeper watch on their wrist.
“Impressive, impressive!” Lin Xiaoxue gave him two thumbs up, then took out her diary again. “We were just looking at my diary, but there wasn’t really any useful information inside.”
“Oh,” Zhu Zhaoyang replied. His gaze went straight to Wei Sen. “Are you the Sister Sen they were talking about in the group chat?”
“What makes you think that’s me?” Wei Sen asked calmly.
“A feeling,” Zhu Zhaoyang answered solemnly.
Wei Sen smiled faintly. “Mm. You really are smart.”
“Then I didn’t get it wrong.”
Lin Xiaoxue raised her hand. “I’m Lin Xiaoxue. You can call me Sister Xiaoxue!”
“I’m Xu You. You can call me Big Bro.”
“Okay, Sister Xiaoxue, Big Bro!”
“What a sweet talker!” Lin Xiaoxue laughed.
Zhu Zhaoyang then looked seriously at Wei Sen again. “Sisters, what did you mean by the Invitation and Guide you mentioned in the group just now?”
“That…” Lin Xiaoxue was about to explain, but Wei Sen placed a hand on her leg and gave her a meaningful look. “I’ll explain.”
Lin Xiaoxue could also tell that Wei Sen seemed very distrustful of the little boy in front of them, so she tactfully shut her mouth and nodded.
Wei Sen looked at Zhu Zhaoyang and said, “It’s not really anything related to this Instance, so let’s discuss the Instance first. After we clear it, we can take our time explaining the rest.”
Zhu Zhaoyang looked at Wei Sen in silence. Emotions churned in the depths of his eyes, but he quickly smiled again and said, “Okay!”
Wei Sen analyzed, “Daoist, what you received should be the Air Marshal Rules, while Xiaoxue, Yangyang, and I all received the Passenger Code. The security guard and Xia Susu should have received the Crew Identity Rules corresponding to their crew-member identities.
For now, the rules aren’t complete, and we don’t know the Clearance Condition either. So my suggestion is that while the plane is flying steadily, everyone should search around for useful clues as long as they don’t violate their personal rules.
In particular, carefully check the personal belongings you brought with you.”
Xu You nodded and stood. “Mm. I was just about to make my rounds anyway.”
She was a plainclothes air marshal. According to the rules, she could not reveal her identity unless there was danger, but she also had to patrol the cabin for safety at least once every half hour.
So she was absolutely convinced that the moment had come to test her acting skills!
She had to patrol, but she couldn’t let anyone recognize her!
With that thought in mind, Xu You confidently took the lead and left.
Lin Xiaoxue watched Xu You’s departing figure with suspicion written all over her face. “Sister Sen, why does Sister You look so sneaky? She isn’t going to steal something, is she?”
Wei Sen smiled faintly. “Who knows?”
Zhu Zhaoyang said, “Then I’ll head back and check my luggage too.”
“Mm.”
After Zhu Zhaoyang left, Lin Xiaoxue lowered her voice and leaned closer to Wei Sen. “Sister Sen, Yangyang is such a little kid. It’s so pitiful for him to enter an Instance. But why do you seem so unwilling to accept him?”
“He’s already cleared Instance after Instance. Do you still think he’s just a child?” Wei Sen asked in return.
Lin Xiaoxue was instantly left speechless.
That was true. He looked like a child, but she had to admit that his insight and his attitude toward everything were both far stronger than hers, even though she was an eighteen-year-old big sister!
Wei Sen got to her feet. “You check the rest of our luggage. I’ll go talk to the people from Group B.”
“No problem! Mission guaranteed!”
Wei Sen walked to the first two rows at the front of the plane and finally got a clear look at the words on the yellow flag: “Sunset Red Senior Tour Group.”
It was clearly called the Sunset Red Senior Tour Group, but whether it was the tour guide or the five travelers, all of them were young. The oldest among them was a plump middle-aged man, and even he looked only about fifty or so.
The tour guide and the remaining four travelers were all women.
Only then did Wei Sen realize that whether it had been the Zhihui Primary School Instance or this Instance, people with the Order Keeper title were far more likely to be women than men.
Could this have something to do with the secret she had discovered in the Real World…
Wei Sen pondered silently.
At that moment, the tour guide also noticed Wei Sen.
“You’re from Group A?”
Wei Sen looked at the tour guide. She was a Blonde Woman who appeared to be around thirty.
“Yes. Hello, my name is Wei Sen.”
The Blonde Woman said coldly, “Don’t bother coming over to pry information out of us. Before the Clearance Condition appears, we won’t cooperate with anyone from Group A.”
The corners of Wei Sen’s lips lifted slightly.
As expected…
Back in the Zhihui Primary School Instance, she had discovered that each group received a different Clearance Condition. That meant there was a chance that one group’s Clearance Condition could contradict another’s.
Once that happened, the two groups would become competitors.
It looked like this Blonde Woman was Group B’s “leader.” None of the others objected to her decision.
Since that was the case, there was nothing left to discuss.
“If we don’t exchange information, how do you know whether our Clearance Condition is the same?” Wei Sen asked.
The Blonde Woman’s face showed a contemptuous smile, and the other group members all revealed similar expressions.
“That’s none of your concern,” the Blonde Woman said, raising an eyebrow.
Wei Sen said nothing more and turned to leave.
It seemed they had a way to learn the Clearance Condition for other groups!
Could it be that the Clearance Condition could be found by members of any group, and they simply had to determine whether it belonged to their own group?
Or perhaps there was some Anomalous Artifact that allowed someone to obtain every Clearance Condition directly.
Wei Sen thought silently, then glanced at her watch.
At the moment, she had 1,023 Merit Points, which meant she still had one chance to activate a Card Draw.
However, this Instance’s difficulty rating was not particularly high, so she had no plans to use that precious Card Draw opportunity for now.
“Ah! Ah!”
Before Wei Sen could return to her seat, she heard a burst of screams and commotion coming from the direction of the travel agency group.
