Chapter 70
Chapter 70
-What the fuck? Why did the screen go black?! I was right in the middle of shipping them! Goddammit, did the Live Stream Room bug out?!
-Aaaah! What happened after No. 54 took the streamer’s mask off?! Live Stream Room, I paid for a membership! If you don’t start broadcasting again, I’m demanding a refund!!!
-Black screen… I don’t know why, but it reminds me of someone. (bitter smile.jpg)
-Honestly, ever since I couldn’t find his Live Stream Room, I’ve been suspicious…
-What riddles are you people talking in? Why can’t I understand a word?
-You haven’t been dead for long, have you?
-How did you know? I died half a year ago. Who is this person you’re talking about?
-Holy shit, no wonder No. 54 kept giving me this weird sense of familiarity! He must’ve used a prop. Otherwise, even if that face turned to ash, I’d never forget it!!!
-Heh. You go turn to ash, then…
-Mainly because ever since he got promoted to Black-Name Streamer, he hid his Live Stream Room. I haven’t watched him in so long I was about to forget he existed. Fuck! Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!!! How did he end up in a low-level instance?
-What are you people even talking about?
-That man… is the big shot who already slaughtered his way through Floor 3 and controls 13% of the Live Stream Room.
-…I know who he is now. Shaking in my boots~
-Damn, the streamer latched onto him? He’s going to make it big!
-Sadako: Thanks for the invite~ Our gege can slaughter his way through eighteen floors all on his own. He doesn’t need to cling to anyone’s thigh.
-Li Xiaoqin: …I’m not leaving this fan club anymore. My retirement security is set~
-So jealous. I want to join the streamer’s fan club too. I just don’t know if the streamer will take me.
-Sadako: Fair-weather fans aren’t welcome. Hurry up and get lost.
On the other side, the moment Dormitory One was allowed entry, everyone practically bolted inside.
When No. 15 returned to the dorm and saw there was no padlock on the door, he pushed it open without a second thought.
The hallway was bustling. All the streamers who had returned were standing in the corridor, taking out keys to open their doors.
A cold gust blew through, carrying with it a sweet scent that drifted into the dim room.
That wisp of scent seemed to take on substance, twining and tempting before his eyes, waiting only for the instant Qiao Yu let down his guard before swarming forward and dragging him into the abyss.
Qiao Yu’s face grew even paler, the color gradually shifting toward the bluish-white pallor of a corpse.
“You two aren’t going to shower? What are you standing by the window looking at?” No. 15 bent down to take out his shower basket and towel. As he gathered his toiletries, he looked curiously at Shang Yan and Qiao Yu.
But neither of them spoke. The atmosphere between them could even be described as strange.
No. 15 awkwardly scratched the back of his head, then hugged his shower basket and slunk away.
“Close the door!” Qiao Yu gritted his teeth, his tone strained with restraint.
No. 15 slammed on the brakes two meters outside the door and hurriedly turned back to shut the dorm room door tight.
Only then did Qiao Yu’s taut body slowly relax. Then… he released Shang Yan’s collar. At the same time, he lost all interest in seeking an answer and raised his hand to snatch back his mask.
In the next second, his wrist was grabbed.
Shang Yan’s clear, clean voice sounded by his ear. “You won’t.”
His tone was full of certainty. Qiao Yu froze for a moment, then couldn’t help shaking his head with a laugh.
Even he didn’t believe in himself, yet this man seemed to have quite a lot of confidence in him.
After giving Qiao Yu his answer, Shang Yan put the mask back on him, not forgetting to tidy the stray hair on his forehead as well. “How long can you go without breathing?”
Qiao Yu lowered his head, his voice a little muffled. “I can keep not breathing forever, but after too long, my body will stiffen.”
“Oh, a living zombie.”
Qiao Yu rolled his eyes at him and angrily swatted Shang Yan’s hand away, then added, “But after smelling that scent, the moment I see someone appear nearby, I can’t help wanting to sniff them. I don’t think I can hold out much longer.”
He was afraid… afraid that once he lost control and took just one sniff, the next second he might eat someone alive.
Qiao Yu didn’t dare imagine that scene. Even his arms had begun to tremble on pure instinct.
All of a sudden, his hand was caught in someone else’s. Warm, slender fingers slipped between his icy ones and slowly tightened, as if pouring strength into his body and holding up his swaying frame.
“If you can’t hold back, then don’t.”
Qiao Yu snapped back to himself and stared at him in shock.
What the hell was that supposed to mean?
He wanted him to eat human flesh raw?!
Was he insane?!
“Qiao Yu, you’re hurting my hand,” Shang Yan said, without the slightest trace of annoyance. His tone was still as calm as a river, without wind or ripples.
Qiao Yu loosened his grip as told, uncertain. “Do you know what you’re saying?”
“I do.”
Unlike Qiao Yu’s, the other man’s long lashes were straight, and when he lowered his eyes, they formed a remarkably pretty curve.
And at a time like this, he actually still had the leisure to draw circles on the back of Qiao Yu’s hand!
Shang Yan’s expression was a little languid. Maybe it was precisely because he was acting as if this were no big deal that the fear in Qiao Yu’s heart eased, and his emotions somehow settled along with it.
“I have a way. Kiss me, and I’ll help you.”
Was this bastard being inhuman again?
“I’m not lying to you. I really do have a way to help.” Shang Yan leaned closer, his amber eyes gleaming with ill intent. “How about it? Want to try?”
“No!” Qiao Yu ruthlessly pushed away that flawless, pretty face in front of him and narrowed his eyes in warning. “Don’t mind me. Just watch me turn into a pervert in silence.”
Shang Yan: “……”
The moment the words left his mouth, Qiao Yu suddenly felt a prick like a needle jab just below his ear. He couldn’t help hissing, clapping a hand over his ear as he looked at the man in front of him accusingly.
Sure enough, Shang Yan was holding a long needle as fine as an ox hair.
“Are you Rong Momo? Why are you stabbing me?!”
Shang Yan let out a soft laugh. With a turn of his wrist, he hid the evidence away, then leaned in at his leisure and blew a breath against Qiao Yu’s ear. His laughter was bewitching. “Try it. Can you still smell anything?”
Qiao Yu blinked. It took him a good while to react, and then he cautiously sniffed.
The tip of his nose twitched slightly. He suddenly realized he couldn’t smell anything at all, and he couldn’t help getting anxious. “You didn’t break me, did you?”
Just then, the door was pushed open. No. 16 froze in the act of opening it and stared at the two of them in startled suspicion, his expression saying he wanted to speak but didn’t dare.
Qiao Yu had no time to deal with him. He sniffed again experimentally.
Damn. He really couldn’t smell anything!
“What do we do? I think you really did break me!” Qiao Yu glared at Shang Yan for help. His fair face looked like ice and snow thawing at last; the gloomy silence from before was gone, replaced by a vivid expressiveness.
No. 16: “……Break you?”
Shang Yan spread his hands, looking utterly innocent. “Don’t worry, I didn’t break you. It’s only temporary. Though I don’t have experience and this is my first time, I was already very careful.”
He really didn’t know much about traditional Chinese medicine. Using acupuncture to stimulate a pressure point would only make someone lose their sense of smell for a short while.
But he was a top student. Even if this was his first time doing it, he was confident he wouldn’t stab Qiao Yu’s nose into ruin. He guaranteed it.
No. 16: “……”
Break… no experience… first time… very careful.
Sorry. He didn’t want to overthink it either.
But when you put it in context… you really couldn’t blame him for overthinking it.
At first, Qiao Yu didn’t notice anything wrong. It wasn’t until he caught sight of No. 16’s face-blankness mixed with shock, speechlessness laced with distortion-that his whole person went unwell.
He raised a hand, wanting to explain. “Don’t misunderstand. Just now, I was afraid he’d mess up my…”
“Aaaah-I’m not listening, I’m not listening! I don’t want to hear what he did to you! I’m still a baby!” No. 16 collapsed, covering his ears, his little face turning bright yellow.
Qiao Yu was so angry his features nearly fled his face.
Right now, he felt that in No. 16’s eyes, he was a great pervert with no male virtue, ready to get wild anytime and anywhere!
His. Reputation. Had. Been. Murdered!
