Chapter 5
Chapter 5
When I thought about how I’d misunderstood and assumed Zhou Moshang had been cheated on-and how I’d even called him “honey” to his face-I couldn’t bring myself to look up at him.
The skewers sizzled and dripped oil, their aroma wafting through the air. I was starting to get hungry.
After downing a bottle of beer, Liang Hua burst into messy, hiccuping sobs.
“She and I went from school uniforms to wedding vows. So many years together! And she just cheats on me like that? I want a divorce!”
I immediately chimed in, “Exactly! Cheating only happens zero times or countless times. Divorce her!”
Liang Hua said, “But I really do love her…”
I added, “That’s true too. Maybe give her one more chance?”
Liang Hua sniffled again. “But she stopped loving me ages ago. She also likes to hit me…”
I said, “Domestic violence is intolerable. Then you definitely need to divorce her!”
Liang Hua hesitated. “But she and I have a child together. Her name is Lana…”
I said, “That’s true too. Why didn’t you bring your child out to eat with us?”
Liang Hua shook his head. “She’s picky. She only eats dog food.”
Me: “…Oh.”
So it was a dog.
Damn it. Divorce or don’t divorce, see if I care!
Speechless, I lowered my head. My stomach gave a loud rumble, and a skewer was handed to me just in time.
I looked up. Under the lights, Zhou Moshang’s eyes seemed to glimmer with tiny stars.
His voice was gentle, his tone teasing. “Don’t mind him. Once he sobers up, he’ll figure it out himself.”
A cool, aloof handsome guy turning gentle was truly impossible to resist.
I took the skewer, and my cheeks suddenly felt a little hot.
Pathetic.
Liang Hua was a total lightweight and had long since drunk himself under the table. What started as a dinner for three was now just me and Zhou Moshang.
Zhou Moshang was single.
My restless little heart stirred again. The tiny flame of romance reignited from the ashes, and I decided to find some topics to bring us closer.
“Why was Mr. Zhou the first to arrive yesterday?”
He suddenly stood, placed some grilled meat onto my plate, then lifted his eyes to look at me. Enunciating each word, he said, “Zhou Moshang.”
I froze. All at once, he gave off the faint aura of a domineering CEO. Help, I loved it so much!
“My name is Zhou Moshang. You can call me Moshang.”
Moshang… or mo shang, as in “don’t get on”? With a face like that, how could anyone not want to get on?
Embarrassed, I pressed my lips together and silently cursed myself for being such a pervert.
Seeing my silence, Zhou Moshang continued, “Liang Hua’s company is in another city, so he couldn’t make it back in time. He asked me to go take a look for him. I live in Room 801.”
So that was what happened.
Maybe it was just my imagination, but I kept feeling like this handsome guy was being pretty proactive.
Secretly delighted, I figured it was time to introduce myself too. I couldn’t let him chat with me this long without even knowing my name.
I cleared my throat and decided to introduce myself solemnly. “Ahem. My name is-hic!”
I clapped a hand over my mouth, my eyes going wide.
What did I just do?
I had burped right in Zhou Moshang’s face! And it smelled like garlic!
Help. There went every last shred of my dignity.

The Handsome Guy Upstairs
The insanely hot guy upstairs is six-two, with cool-toned fair skin and gold-rimmed glasses. He looks aloof and abstinent, but apparently, he’s actually a beast.
The very night I moved...
