Chapter 3
Chapter 3
“Tell that man to come out.”
The handsome guy cut the woman off without mercy.
“What… what man? Moshang, are you mistaken?”
The woman looked completely bewildered.
Tsk, tsk. She sounded so convincing. If I hadn’t been listening downstairs for so long, I might have actually believed her. With acting skills like that, it would be a shame if she didn’t go pick up an Oscar.
I saw Zhou Moshang’s face fill with mockery. He was probably about to drop the big one.
Finally couldn’t hold it in anymore, huh?
He gave a derisive laugh, hooked a finger around a pair of black suit pants scattered on the floor, unfolded them to check the label, and said, “This isn’t Liang Hua’s size, is it? Liang Hua wears large. These pants are extra-large.”
???
Who the hell was Liang Hua?
Was there a fourth person mixed up in this too?
And he even knew his wife had cheated with more than one man?
Good lord. So what he had on his head wasn’t a green hat-it was an entire green prairie!
This handsome guy really had endured a whole lot of humiliation. No wonder he was so calm while catching his wife cheating. This probably wasn’t his first time.
He was practically a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, so calm it made my heart ache for him.
Crouched by the corner of the wall, I sighed silently to myself.
I couldn’t keep listening. The more I knew, the easier it would be to get silenced. I turned to leave.
Just then, I heard the woman cry out in alarm. I looked back and saw a man’s figure bolt out through the door.
Bare-chested, floral boxers-the standard outfit of an adulterer.
The adulterer charged straight toward the entrance, while the two people inside just stood there staring blankly, doing absolutely nothing.
I got anxious.
“Dude, what are you standing around for? Grab the adulterer!”
I lunged forward and blocked the adulterer’s path.
See? I knew it! In the end, I still had to help!
When the adulterer saw me blocking the doorway, his face twisted viciously, his eyes flashing with menace.
He took two steps back, then rushed forward with all his might.
All I heard was a sharp crack. My vision went black, and I passed out.
When I woke up, the first thing I saw was the hospital’s glaring white ceiling.
The first person I saw was the handsome guy, Zhou Moshang. The second was that adulterer.
Zhou Moshang was sitting beside my hospital bed. When he saw I was awake, he reached out to check the temperature of my forehead.
The adulterer was lying in a hospital bed just like me, his head wrapped in gauze. Even as he grimaced in pain, he didn’t forget to glare at me with a resentful, hateful look.
I couldn’t be bothered to look at him. I immediately turned to Zhou Moshang, my face full of confusion.
Seeing that, Zhou Moshang poured me a glass of water and handed it over. He explained, “You fainted from a fever. After he ran into you, his head hit the doorframe and he passed out too, so we brought both of you to the hospital.”
So I had fainted from a fever.
What a shame. If I’d been knocked out from the collision, I could’ve counted it as a workplace injury.
At that thought, my eyes immediately shot daggers at the adulterer lying off to the side. Useless bastard. He ran into me once and managed to knock himself out. Otherwise, he could’ve hit me a few more times.
When the adulterer saw that my glare was even fiercer than his, he froze for a moment, then couldn’t help clutching the blanket and shrinking to the side.
Me: Coward.
Maybe I was being too obvious, because Zhou Moshang’s lips curved slightly, and a hint of a smile finally appeared on his calm face.
I had to admit, a handsome guy really did look good when he smiled.
I stared for a second, a little dazed, but quickly snapped back to my senses.
“Wait, dude. How can you still smile right now?”
Zhou Moshang was clearly taken aback.
I went on, “Your wife cheated on you, the adulterer is lying right there, and you still brought him to the hospital? You’re not going to beat him up?”
I admit I had a little selfish motive. I wanted to earn some extra cash. So I ignored the fact that I was still lying in a hospital bed and continued tempting him. “If it’s inconvenient for you to do it yourself, I can help.”
The expression on Zhou Moshang’s face was hard to describe. I wondered if I’d poked him where it hurt.
After a long while, he finally said, “No need. Someone else will beat him up.”
Who? Who was stealing my job?

The Handsome Guy Upstairs
The insanely hot guy upstairs is six-two, with cool-toned fair skin and gold-rimmed glasses. He looks aloof and abstinent, but apparently, he’s actually a beast.
The very night I moved...
