Chapter 4

Several people came into the ward: two nurses and a man.

The moment the man entered, he stormed straight toward the adulterer’s hospital bed.

My mighty body trembled. Someone had come to steal my job!

He grabbed the adulterer by the collar and punched him right in the face.

“You son of a bitch, you seduced my woman? I’ll beat you to death!”

Zhou Moshang stepped forward to stop him.

“Liang Hua-stop!”

The two nurses were startled. Once they snapped out of it, they rushed over to hold the man back too, and the scene descended into chaos.

My IV pole got knocked until it was wobbling dangerously, and I hurriedly clutched it for dear life.

I was grinning from ear to ear when, without meaning to, I met the eyes of the two nurses.

They were looking at me too, their gazes complicated.

Damn it! Did they think I was the cheating heroine?

The adulterer kept dodging farther away while the official boyfriend and the side piece chased him even harder. Everyone inside and outside the ward was watching the show.

The nurses were so anxious they were practically stomping their feet, blocking them while calling security.

I grabbed the actual cheating heroine, who had been sneaking around outside the door, and yanked her in. Then I glanced at the three men making a complete mess over there and signaled for her to hurry up and handle it.

The woman sighed, shook her head, and tried to leave.

I grabbed her. “You had the guts to do it but not the guts to own up to it?”

The woman hurriedly covered my mouth, looking utterly melancholy. “Sis, this situation isn’t easy to mediate. They all like me. If I stop one, I’ll hurt the other. I don’t want to hurt any more men.”

The woman closed my jaw, which had dropped in shock, and said, “I still have things to do, so I’ll get going.”

One of the nurses jogged over and removed my IV needle for me.

With righteous conviction, I said to the nurse, “They’re the ones being immature. I’m sorry about this! I’ll talk to them, I’ll talk to them.”

I stuffed the cash under my blanket, making sure it was tucked in nice and tight.

Since my IV was done anyway, I got out of bed with impressive agility.

Talking sense into them definitely wouldn’t work. What man, after getting cheated on, would listen to reason?

I prepared to use the combat skills I’d trained in for more than ten years to hold those men back.

Who should I stop first?

I quickly locked onto my target. Stop the most handsome one first!

I charged forward and wrapped my arms around Zhou Moshang’s waist.

The ward fell dead silent.

Zhou Moshang was completely defenseless and got tackled by me into the wall.

I looked up, and we stared at each other. His pupils were practically vibrating.

Good news: Zhou Moshang was single.

Bad news: I had died of social embarrassment, and the one who got cheated on was Zhou Moshang’s buddy, Liang Hua.

He pulled me and Zhou Moshang along, saying he wanted to treat us to a meal to thank us for helping him catch the cheater.

I understood that he just wanted someone to comfort him, so I didn’t refuse.

And so, that evening, the three of us sat down together at a barbecue stall.
