Listening to Gu’s Mother shrieking inside the room, I sighed helplessly.

“What are you going to do?”

Gu Yi stuffed the candies into my pocket and said coldly, “None of your business. Hurry up and leave.”

I took out a piece of candy, peeled off the wrapper, and popped it into my mouth.

It was very sweet. It made my life feel a little less bitter.

I pushed Gu Yi aside and said calmly, “You can’t handle this. Let me. If I can deal with your mom, you have to listen to me from now on.”

I walked into the room and looked at Gu’s Mother, whose eyes were red, her fury making her look like a lioness. In an even voice, I said,
