Chapter 2
Chapter 2
I found Gu Yi sitting in the little grove outside the villa complex, taking a knife to himself, and proceeded to say a whole lot to him.
My low blood sugar had my head spinning, so what came out of my mouth was not exactly logical. But that was fine. He was smart. He could understand.
“I’m not here to talk you out of it. I just want to discuss something with you. Could you maybe die a little later?”
“You don’t want your assets falling into the hands of your dad’s illegitimate son, do you? They’ll inherit your money, buy yachts and private jets, and travel the world. Are you really okay with that?”
“If you just endure for a few more years, you’ll be able to start your own company, become a rising star in tech, and multiply your wealth more than tenfold.”
“I’ll help you take a shortcut. When the time comes, you give me a cut, and I’ll help you take out Xie Xun.”
“I’m not asking for much. Half your net worth will do.”
“On your own, you’ll never be able to get rid of Xie Xun. But I can.”
Gu Yi stopped moving the knife. His dark, lifeless eyes widened slightly, disdain hidden within them, as if I had come all this way just to tell him a joke.
“You?”
He looked me up and down.
The original owner of this body, Lin Shiran.
Fifteen years old. Seventy pounds. Chronically hypoglycemic. Liable to pass out at any moment.
But the boy in front of me clearly had no idea how powerful the female lead of an angst novel could be.
An angst novel heroine could only die when she wanted to die. At any other time, she was an unkillable cockroach.
I raised an eyebrow, annoyed.
“Be grateful. Besides me, who else is on your side? Your dad? Or your mom?”
Gu Yi froze. His expression grew even uglier.
Though both his parents were alive, he was no different from an orphan.
His family was basically a psychiatric ward. His father had a condition where he felt uncomfortable if he didn’t cheat. His mother had a condition where she would die if she didn’t cause trouble. Gu Yi was the least sick among them; when he had nothing better to do, he would cut himself a few times and make little whimpering noises to relieve his anxiety. Gloomy as hell.
Now that he was provoked, he wanted to say something to get under my skin too.
“You hate Xie Xun? What did he do to you? Or are you just jealous of him?”
I calmly put on an act.
“In the future, he’ll fall for me. I don’t want to be liked by that bastard.”
Gu Yi: “…”
He looked at me like I was the crazy one, then stood up and patted off his backside. He had even stopped cutting his wrist and was clearly planning to run for his life.
I hurriedly grabbed him.
“Don’t go. I’m serious…”
Before I could finish, I passed out.
Right before losing consciousness, I thought in despair: An angst novel heroine really is a paradox! How can someone be both fragile and indestructible?
