Chapter 11

August 15 – Clear

Fragment Twelve

Then one day, he suddenly stopped speaking to me.

I couldn’t make sense of it, but I didn’t dwell on the matter. I assumed he had finally discovered his conscience and decided to stop harassing me.

Then, one day, he told me there was another banquet and asked for my help. Once again, he wanted me to pose as his date.

[Annoying Jerk]: Liang Anping, I need a favor.

[Anping]: !!!

[Anping]: Well, well. Even the great young master has to ask for help sometimes.

[Annoying Jerk]: A young master is still human, and every human needs help at some point.

Tsk. Shamelessness had never been displayed to greater perfection.

[Anping]: What is it? What could possibly force the great young master to beg for help?

[Anping]: Tell me. Let me have a good laugh.

[Annoying Jerk]: Pretend again. Come as my date.

[Anping]: Can’t do it.

[Anping]: Goodbye. Take care. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

[Annoying Jerk]: Have pity on me. Please help.

[Anping]: Beg me.

[Annoying Jerk]: I’m begging you.

And so I agreed.

Sometimes, I would have a calm conversation with him.

He would tell me about his family too.

That was how I learned, even then, that he didn’t much care for women.

His mother had been a wealthy heiress, while his father was a penniless young man.

A rich young lady fell in love with a poor young man. Naturally, many people opposed them.

Whatever they went through, his father and mother ultimately ended up together.

His mother’s forceful, career-minded nature was already apparent while they were dating. Back then, his father found it feminine and attractive, so it didn’t bother him at all.

After they married, that forceful nature gradually became an overwhelming need for control.

He wasn’t allowed to come home late. He wasn’t allowed any contact with female colleagues.

No drinking. No smoking. No street racing.

Whatever she disliked, she forbade.

His father had considered divorce, but he had no money, so he had no choice but to swallow his anger and endure it to this day.

Growing up in that environment left my husband with a particular loathing for controlling women, and little fondness for women in general.

August 16 – Overcast

[Shihuai: Liang Anping, you fell asleep in the middle of writing yesterday. You never finished the story!]

[Liang: All right, all right. We’ll continue today.]

Fragment Thirteen

Half out of sympathy and half for the entertainment, I decided to help him once more.

This time, he sent over a new gown: a white evening dress made of gauze.

Once I was dressed, I went to the banquet with him.

The first half of the evening passed peacefully. Later, I went to the restroom and was drugged unconscious.

When I came to, I could feel that I was lying on a bed. Ropes bound my arms and legs so tightly I couldn’t move. A strip of cloth covered my eyes, leaving me unable to see.

Then the door gave an electronic beep. Footsteps followed.

Someone had entered the room.

“This is the person you found for me?” a man asked.

“Yes. Are you satisfied, Mr. Huang?”

That voice… That was…

Wasn’t that the woman I had slapped to the floor last time?

“Passable,” the man replied.

Passable, my ass!

I ranked first on the university’s official list of its ten most handsome professors, and all you could call me was passable?!

The light came on with a click. Someone tore away the blindfold. The sudden brightness stung so badly that I couldn’t open my eyes, but the man went still and silent for a long while.

Had he underestimated my looks?

Hmph! I was dashing, dignified, elegant. Perhaps not unrivaled beneath the heavens, but certainly handsome, graceful, debonair, and charming!
Passable? Just wait. My face would blind those twenty-four-karat titanium dog eyes of his in seconds.

Stupid bastard who looked down on everyone. Wretched man too blind to recognize greatness. Shortsighted moron. Brainless lunatic without eyes in his head.

Once I had finished cursing him inwardly, I heard a rustle that sounded suspiciously like someone undressing.

Fuck, fuck, fuck. Sir, calm down. We can talk this over. Don’t take off your clothes!!!

By then, I could finally see what the man looked like.

He had a tremendous belly, rolls of fat all over, and a glossy sheen. He was probably very bright.

His bald head certainly was.

The moment he reached me, he pinched my waist. If I hadn’t still been tied up, I would have kicked him flying.

What the hell was wrong with this man? Pinching my waist the instant he arrived. What rotten luck!

Suppressing my disgust, I raised my bound arms around his neck and brushed my leg against his inner thigh.

He seemed to understand what I meant. Perhaps he thought the ropes made it inconvenient for me to move, because he untied my wrists and knees.

The instant I was free, I drove my foot into his crotch. With a howl, he rolled off the bed and curled up on the floor, clutching himself.

I looked down at him coldly, picked up the phone he had carelessly left on the bedside table, and called a certain someone.

“Young Master Tang, having fun?”

“Where are you?”

“In a hotel room, enjoying a live demonstration of the Crotch-Clutching Sect’s secret art.”

“The Wudang Sect?”

“Not Wudang. Wu as in covering something up, and dang as in crotch. Anyway, when are you coming to find me?”

[Liang: I can’t keep my eyes open. I’m going to sleep for a while.]

[Shihuai: Your mental state has been terrible lately… Go to sleep.]

August 17 – Rain

[Shihuai: Not bad. You slept all the way until now.]

[Liang: That isn’t a good thing.]

[Shihuai: Why not?]

[Liang: If your mind ever starts deteriorating and you’re tired all the time, you’ll understand how this feels.]

[Liang: You never know when you’ll wake up, or whether you’ll wake up at all. You never know whether the next time you open your eyes, everything around you will have changed.]

[Shihuai: Let’s talk about something else. Keep telling your story.]

Fragment Fourteen

“…Give me the room number.”

“All right, it’s… Fuck off! If I die, I -”

Just as I was about to give him the number, the man lunged at me again. I dodged sideways, grabbed the vase from the bedside table, and smashed it over his head, knocking him unconscious.

“What happened? Liang Anping, what’s wrong? Answer me!”

“…Nothing. The Crotch-Clutching Sect just suffered a deviation in its training, so I gave its master a little correction.”

“…”

“Room 1303. Come get me.”

Then I hung up.

When he arrived, he had called the police. Officers packed the hallway outside Room 1303 so tightly that anyone unaware of the situation might have thought they were raiding an entire vice ring.

Everything proceeded as it should. I was about to go to the police station with that man to give a statement when some little bastard suddenly roared at us, “Fuck! You fucking like men!”

I was speechless on the spot.

That man gave him an icy glance. “What’s it to you?”

I was stunned on the spot.

The man on the floor staggered upright, pointed at his nose, and spat, “Disgusting! Shameless!”

I was mortified on the spot.

That man threw an arm around my shoulders and casually kissed my cheek. “Idiot. It’s not like I like you. Why the fuck do you care?”

I died on the spot.
