Sitting on the sofa, I felt painfully awkward.

Only Xie Yi and I were in the living room. My advisor had gone to busy herself in the kitchen.

“Um, I should go help too.”

I stood up, trying to flee this mortifying place, but Xie Yi caught my hand.

“No need. Just sit.”

Xie Yi’s hand was cool, and the air conditioner was on in the living room, too. But the patch of skin he touched burned hot.

I sat back down on the sofa and stole a glance at Xie Yi.

“Want a tangerine?”

I took the tangerine he handed me and murmured a thank-you.

He picked one up for himself as well and began peeling it.

I stared at his fair, slender fingers and couldn’t help swallowing.

His palm was big. He could easily wrap one hand around my wrist, just like he had a moment ago.

Then if we were in bed…

I couldn’t help swallowing again and quickly picked up my glass to take a sip of water.

Just then, Xie Yi’s cool, clear voice sounded.

“Lin Yiyi, are you craving the tangerine, or my hand?”

I held my glass and looked at Xie Yi.

He was watching TV, his hands still moving, showing off that handsome profile.

As if he hadn’t been the one who said that just now.

I took a sip of water and answered with complete honesty, “Your hand.”

The next second, those hands appeared in front of me, holding a peeled tangerine.

There was a hint of helplessness in his eyes as he looked at me. “Stop craving it. Eat the tangerine first.”

Blushing, I took it from him. Sharp-eyed as I was, I noticed Xie Yi’s ears seemed a little red too.

Maybe my stare was too intense.

In the end, Xie Yi couldn’t withstand it and went to the kitchen.

My advisor came out and sat beside me.

I greeted her obediently. “Professor.”

She looked at me with a beaming smile. “Mm. Why aren’t you eating? Have some more.”

I nodded and silently ate the tangerine Xie Yi had peeled for me.

Then I couldn’t help turning to glance toward the kitchen again.

The kitchen and living room were around a corner, so I couldn’t see Teacher Xie’s handsome, refined back.

I had no choice but to turn back-only to meet my advisor’s nosy, auntie-like grin.

“He’s cooking. It’ll be ready soon.”

I said in surprise, “Teacher Xie knows how to cook?”

My advisor nodded with an inscrutable air, promoting Xie Yi like she was pitching a product.

“That’s right. And he’s very good at it, too. So? Invest now and you definitely won’t lose out.”
