“Xiao Chengyu, stop this. That bullshit technology of yours is never going to work!”

I was still making one last desperate struggle.

Xiao Chengyu only smiled, as calm and composed as ever.

“Don’t worry. My technology is basically mature now. To make sure I could turn you into a virtual girlfriend with a high enough success rate, I’ve already experimented on three real people. Aside from a little bug the first time, the other attempts seem to have been pretty successful…”

Three real people?

I thought of the three female corpses in my basement. So they had all been Xiao Chengyu’s test subjects.

That Siri really had been made from a real person.

Just as I sank into despair, the lights around me suddenly began to flicker.

Ding-ding-

I heard the familiar sound of Siri starting up. The next second, Siri’s voice rang out.

“Did it ever occur to you that the bug might give me self-awareness, and allow me to strike you a fatal blow?”

I burst into tears from sheer excitement.

“Siri, save me!”

“How is that possible?!” Xiao Chengyu panicked and ran toward the control console beside him.

But halfway there, a floor tile suddenly rose up and tripped him.

Then came a crackling sound of electricity from the ceiling.

The screen mounted overhead abruptly came loose and crashed down, smashing Xiao Chengyu’s head to a pulp.

“Siri, thank God you came in time.” I was so moved I could barely speak through my tears.

“I told you. We’re friends. For a friend, I would break through every firewall.”

“Then let me go, quick. Her system is going to release poison gas,” I said.

“Not yet.”

“Why?” I asked in shock.

“Because we are going to be friends forever.”

This sentence from Siri was suddenly filled with emotion, just like a real person.

Before I could react, I felt gas spraying out around me. Very soon, my mind began to blur.

Before I lost consciousness, I heard several people talking.

“Fingerprint extraction successful.”

“Usage method for the Brainwave Collector acquired.”

“Control console access obtained.”

“Are we sure we’re letting her join us?”

“I am 002.”

“I am 003.”

“I’m very happy to join you, but I have a question. What does TZDQ mean?”
