Chapter 4
When Jiang Shaotian came back, Chen Siqi had just finished introducing himself.
I gave Jiang Shaotian the short version.
“His name is He Sheng. A thousand years ago, he was a scholar.”
With that, I turned to He Sheng. “Speaking of which, there’s something I want to ask you.”
He Sheng inclined his head. “Please ask, miss.”
I lifted my eyes to him. “What happened to my classmate Lu Ke’s grandmother-was that your doing?”
He smiled. “Yes.”
“She had been paralyzed for years and was already at the end of her life. I used the Bone-Attaching Technique to give them a few more happy days together. That was a good thing, was it not?”
I stared at him coldly. “And now?”
Now that the Bone Demon had left her body, what had Lu Ke’s grandmother become?
He Sheng sighed. “Not much time left, I’m afraid.”
Silence lingered for a moment.
Then I asked him, “Why did you come here?”
He smiled. “I came to look for something.”
“What?”
He Sheng looked at Jiang Shaotian. “Did this young gentleman bring back a Terracotta Figurine a few days ago?”
Jiang Shaotian froze.
“A Terracotta Figurine?”
He thought for a moment, then went straight to his bedroom and carried out a box from the closet.
“Is it this?”
“A week ago, I went to an auction and took a liking to a Painted Pottery Dancing Figurine. It looked nice, so I bought it.”
He carried the box over and opened it in front of us.
Inside, the Painted Pottery Dancing Figurine was vivid and lifelike, its colors and form perfectly preserved. It really was beautiful.
He Sheng gazed at it with obsession. “This is it… This belongs to me.”
Jiang Shaotian’s face darkened. “What do you mean, yours?”
“I paid two million for it!”
He Sheng looked at him. “No. It was mine a thousand years ago. I merely lost it…”
Their arguing gave me a headache. I couldn’t help snapping, “Enough. Stop fighting!”
I pointed at Jiang Shaotian. “You. Give this to him. I’ll go to the Jiang Family later and explain it to your grandfather.”
Then I pointed at He Sheng. “And you. Take the Terracotta Figurine, then hurry up and get the hell out of Chen Siqi’s body!”
Once he got out, I’d capture him!
It was the middle of the night. I was dead tired…
But who would’ve thought that the moment I finished speaking, both of them would say in unison, “No.”
I blinked, then turned to look at He Sheng.
Jiang Shaotian turned to look at him too. “It’s one thing for me to disagree. What are you disagreeing about?”
He Sheng smiled at us.
He pointed at the Terracotta Figurine. “This Terracotta Figurine was originally one of a pair. Now there is only one. I must ask Miss Ruyi and this young gentleman to help me find the other.”
Oh, come on.
Give him an inch, and he was taking a mile.
I was just about to lose my temper when he added:
“Otherwise, I’ll stay in this young gentleman’s body and refuse to leave.”
Not only was he taking a mile-he was threatening us!
