Chapter 1
Chapter 1
My boyfriend, Song Cheng, was known as the Mute Groom: a Maserati on the outside with the engine of a Wuling Hongguang van under the hood.
When we first started dating, my best friend secretly warned me, “Your boyfriend is that handsome and that rich? You’d better keep your guard up.”
A month later, she hesitated several times before finally asking, “When Song Cheng was courting you… was his throat inflamed or something, so he could only use sign language?”
She had a point. Song Cheng was great in every way-except for that cursed mouth of his.
When I had this realization, Song Cheng was in the kitchen cooking, tattoo sleeves on both arms and a full back piece, wearing a pink Cinnamoroll apron.
He turned around, saw me watching him through the glass, and grinned at me.
“Wait right there. My di san xian is almost ready.
“With skills like mine, if they sent me to the United Nations, they’d have to give me a medal.”
I smiled and nodded. Good. His condition was stable.
In the three years I dated Song Cheng, aside from his occasional verbal death wish, he had always treated me well.
So on our wedding day, when a woman in a wedding dress suddenly appeared at the entrance, my mind went completely blank.
Whose bride had wandered onto the wrong set?
The guests looked from the unfamiliar woman to me, then from me to Song Cheng. I froze too, and could only turn to Song Cheng in confusion.
Song Cheng had still been standing there with his big dumb grin, but the moment he saw that woman, the smile vanished. There was even a flicker of panic in his eyes.
No way.
Was this a live wedding crash? And the person being stolen was my groom? Wasn’t this a little too melodramatic?
Life really was a stage. If Song Cheng actually ran off in a minute, what was I supposed to do?
In that split second, ten thousand thoughts flashed through my mind. If I’d known this was going to happen today, I really should’ve taken a left turn into the divorce hall next door back then.
Maybe my silence gave Song Cheng a sense of crisis, because he frowned at me and said, “Don’t start imagining things!”
Before I could say a word, the uninvited guest below spoke first.
“Song Cheng, I’m only going to be this brave once in my life. Will you come with me or not?”
Oh-ho!
Here it was. A wedding crash!
The female lead had already delivered her classic line. Next, let us turn our attention to the male lead.
The male lead looked shocked. His brows were tightly furrowed, his breathing uneven, and he snatched the microphone from the emcee’s hand.
Then his ringing voice spread through the entire wedding venue.
“Who the hell are you?
“Did you walk onto the wrong set?”
The woman in the wedding dress stiffened at his words. The emotion and expectation in her eyes froze on the spot.
“Song Cheng, have you forgotten? You said you would marry me.”
Song Cheng was so angry he clenched his teeth. “Don’t talk nonsense! You might not care about your dignity, but I still care about mine!
“If you keep messing up my wedding, I’ll punch your left eye into your right socket. I don’t care if you’re a man or a woman.”
The woman in the wedding dress teared up. “I’m Weiwei.”
Song Cheng paused, then looked her over carefully. “Oh. Did you get plastic surgery?
“Then could you do me a favor and get your brain fixed while you’re at it? Who brought her here? Once I find out, I’m beating your head until it looks like a double-yolk egg.”
The atmosphere was incredibly bizarre, but when I heard that, I still couldn’t stop myself from laughing.
The farce was dealt with very quickly, and the wedding-dress woman named Weiwei was taken away by Song Cheng’s friends.
Everyone tacitly avoided mentioning the incident, but judging from their animated expressions, I could tell that tomorrow’s local trending news would definitely have a spot reserved for me.
