Chapter 2
Chapter 2
No matter how everyone pressed him, they couldn’t get anything more out of him.
All they knew was that Yin Boyu had admitted, with his own mouth, that he’d had a woman before.
Meng Weiyue’s expression didn’t look too good.
Naturally, she didn’t notice that in the dim light, her Brother Boyu’s gaze flicked toward me from the corner of his eye.
Unfortunately, I really had no interest in the topic.
Luckily, no one was paying attention to me, so I quietly left.
A few days later,
under my parents’ pressure, I met Liang Huaiyuan again.
He was clearly unhappy.
He thought we were meeting again and again because I was clinging to him and refusing to let go.
“I heard you’re very satisfied with me?”
At the bowling alley,
Liang Huaiyuan tossed a ball and spoke in a careless tone.
“Meng Yusang, I’ll be blunt. There’s no way I’m marrying you. I hope you know your place and explain things clearly to the elders and the matchmaker yourself.”
“I did explain.”
“What?”
“I told them you were arrogant, conceited, and narcissistic, and that I wasn’t interested in you. I told them not to arrange anything else.”
Liang Huaiyuan froze on the spot.
I took the ball from his hand and sent it down the lane beside us.
Strike.
“Now there’s one more thing,” I said. “You’re not even that good at bowling.”
“How do you know how to bowl?”
“I also play badminton and tennis. Want to compete?”
Liang Huaiyuan was stunned.
Did he think a child raised in the countryside was supposed to know nothing?
He asked me many more questions.
Gradually, the way he looked at me changed.
“Meng Yusang, you’re not quite what I imagined.”
Whatever.
I just wanted to hurry through dinner, end the blind date, and go home so I could report back.
Liang Huaiyuan chose the restaurant for dinner.
Halfway through, he made an excuse to step out. When he returned, there was a jewelry box in his hand.
“A gift for you.”
“You even prepared a gift?”
“I just bought it,” he said with surprising honesty. “At that silver shop across the street.”
I knew that shop.
They specialized in custom silver jewelry, with one-of-a-kind designs, all handcrafted, so their prices were much higher than other silver shops.
“Why are you giving me a gift?”
“I got to know a new side of you today. We can try getting to know each other a little more.”
I laughed. “Please don’t. I know my place.”
“Then just say I’m the one who doesn’t,” Liang Huaiyuan said, laughing too. “Starting tomorrow, it’ll be my turn to ask you out.”
To be honest, when he wasn’t acting all high and mighty, he was kind of handsome.
As long as someone resembled Yin Boyu by even thirty percent, he was already outstanding.
Seeing that I didn’t say anything,
he asked again, “Do you like the necklace?”
“Thank you for the gift, but-”
“No need to thank me. I called your sister just now, and she suggested I buy this. I’ll go thank her later.”
The polite smile on my face vanished at once.
Meng Weiyue.
Well, then it wasn’t surprising.
She knew I was allergic to silver.

“My youngest uncle is Yin Boyu. You’ve heard of him, right?”
My blind date asked the question with a hint of contempt.
“I have.”
“He’s...
