Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Chen Mu hated Xia Li.
He hated the way she could do every rotten thing imaginable and still smile as if she were innocent.
He hated the way she could mock him, then calmly hook her arms around his waist and beg him to sleep with her.
“I’ll pay you.
“Just pretend I’m that Yang Liuzhi woman.”
How could there be such a shameless woman in the world?
Chen Mu showed no mercy. He lifted her up and threw her onto the bed.
Then he turned to leave-only for his phone to ring.
On the other end came Yang Yuzhi’s sobbing voice.
“Brother Chen Mu-
“What do I do? Gu Ming seems really, really sick-”
When Chen Mu was twelve, his parents had died in a car accident. He had grown up eating meals from the Yang family and the other neighbors who took pity on him.
What he owed the Yang family was the same as what he owed Yang Yuzhi.
Xia Li took the opportunity to press herself against his back. Chen Mu caught a sweet lychee scent, damp with the steam of a recent bath.
“Someone drugged Yang Yuzhi and Gu Ming.
“But I drank Yang Yuzhi’s glass for her.
“See? I’m not that bad, am I?”
Chen Mu lowered his head and saw Xia Li’s arms wrapped around his waist.
The contrast between his sun-browned skin and her soft, creamy white made his gaze darken.
When she pleaded her case and said she wasn’t that bad, she looked like a child asking for candy.
Chen Mu was twenty-one. Every day, he studied, worked part-time jobs, and paid off debts. Forget kissing or dating-he had never even held a girl’s hand.
In his fantasies, the first time he held a girl’s hand or kissed her, it would be with a gentle, wonderful girl after he confessed and she blushed and nodded yes.
As for anything further, that was something that should only happen after marriage.
And today, the moment he opened this door, he had given it all to Xia Li.
“I know you don’t like me.
“You think I’m bad. You think I’m targeting Yang Liuzhi.
“Brother Chen Mu, shouldn’t a bad girl get a little lesson?”
Xia Li easily took his phone from him and ended the call.
Outside, rain poured down in torrents. The whole room sank into darkness, lit only by a bit of neon beyond the window.
The spacious room was like a drifting island, one where he could do whatever he wanted.
“It’s raining outside. You won’t be able to get a cab.”
“I didn’t bring-”
She had been raised in luxury, her seaweed-like long hair spilling across the bed, like a siren luring sailors to their doom.
“It’s okay.
“If it’s Brother Chen Mu-”
The taut string inside Chen Mu snapped with a hum.
Outside, a violent wind suddenly whipped up. He definitely had not been bewitched by her. This was God carrying out a sentence.
His voice hoarse, he pinned down the wicked siren.
“On your stomach-“

Chen Mu hated me.
Because I bullied and framed his precious childhood sweetheart.
Again and again, he saw through my schemes with cold eyes and watched me reap what I had sown.
