Since I hadn’t received an apology, then we would just keep going through the legal process.
Song Cheng’s lawyer was still asking to see me.
I ignored him completely.
Trying to get something for nothing?
Not a chance!
Jiang Yan took this case especially seriously.
It was like he’d locked onto Song Cheng and was investigating him with a death grip.

She looked confused. “Didn’t you used to love going out? Why are you staying home every day now?”
I blinked innocently.
“I’m waiting right here for the people who owe me an apology to come to my door!”

Three days later, Ye Yun once again brought Song Cheng to my door.
This time, they were much better behaved. They didn’t ramble or try to change the subject; they opened their mouths and apologized directly.
Once they were done, Ye Yun took out a letter of forgiveness and asked me to sign it.
I looked at her in surprise.
“That’s it?”
Ye Yun looked utterly aggrieved.
“We’ve already apologized. What else do you want?”
I was genuinely puzzled.
“Was I not clear enough? Or is there something wrong with your comprehension? Kneel down and apologize. Do you not understand?”
Ye Yun was so angry she was panting.
“Mom, look at her!”
Ye Sheng’s mother stared up at the ceiling, acting as if it had nothing to do with her.
Song Cheng held Ye Yun back.
Looking at me, he said, “Your sister isn’t in good health. If you insist on venting your anger, I’ll do it in her place. Is that all right?”
Ye Yun looked at Song Cheng with a face full of emotion.
“Honey!”
Song Cheng gently stroked her cheek.
The sight set my teeth on edge, and I refused decisively.
“No. This is what you owe Ye Sheng. Not a single one of you gets to run from it!”
Ye Yun took several deep breaths, as if desperately trying to suppress her emotions.

“I was doing it for your own good too! Look at the boyfriend you chose. A police officer. What kind of future does he have?”
I let out a soft laugh.
“So that’s what you really think, isn’t it? Do you think giving Song Cheng to me would be my blessing? Do you think I got some huge bargain?”
Ye Yun looked like her true thoughts had just been exposed.
Even Song Cheng, standing beside her, seemed to think that was only natural.
No, seriously-who gave them that kind of confidence?

I said coldly, “But in my heart, Jiang Yan is hundreds and thousands of times better than Song Cheng, this rapist!”
“Ye Sheng!”
Once again, I successfully pissed Ye Yun off.
Song Cheng’s expression also darkened.
“Ye Sheng, do you have to make it sound so ugly?”
