Chapter 1

My timing in transmigrating here could not have been better.

At that very moment, the original owner of this body was lying on her sister and brother-in-law’s bed, looking as if she were waiting to be ravaged.

But the desire burning through my body told me things were not that simple.

The original owner’s bag had been tossed on the floor.

“Hello, 110? Someone is trying to drug and rape me. I’ve been drugged. Please, you have to come rescue me right now.”

“Hello, Mom. Can you come pick me up? I don’t feel well, and I don’t want my sister to worry.”

By the time I finished those two calls, my consciousness was already starting to blur.

The bathtub hadn’t even filled yet when I lay down in it.

The bone-chilling cold suppressed the scorching heat inside me.

Whew. This was going to be difficult.

My memories after that came in broken fragments.

It seemed like someone was calling the original owner’s name.

“Ah Sheng, Ah Sheng, where are you?”

There also seemed to be the sound of someone trying to break down the door, along with arguing.

In the end, my consciousness sank completely into darkness.

Things were getting interesting.

Apparently, my glamorous, ever-loving sister and brother-in-law had been taken to the station for questioning.

Their explanation was that after dinner, they realized the original owner had disappeared. Worried, they began searching for her, and finally discovered that the bathroom door in their bedroom was locked from the inside. They had no idea why the original owner had gone into their room. Afraid something had happened to her, they tried to break down the bathroom door.

A date-rape drug?

We have no idea!

There were no cameras in the room and no witnesses, so of course it was their word against everyone else’s.

“We police will investigate the source of the drug. You just rest and don’t worry.”

The officer speaking was named Jiang Yan.

Jiang Yan nodded.

With that, he turned to the original owner’s mother. “Auntie, please take care of Ah Sheng. I’ll come back to check on her later.”

“Go handle your work. I’m here with Ah Sheng, so don’t worry.”

After Jiang Yan left, the original owner’s mother looked worried.

“Is Xiao Jiang angry?”

Oh, right. Jiang Yan was the original owner’s boyfriend.

The kind she was already planning to marry at the end of the year.

I raised an eyebrow. “Angry about what? That someone drugged me?”

The original owner’s mother looked utterly distressed. “How could this happen? How could something like this happen?”

“You’ll have to ask Ye Yun that.”

Her expression changed, and she almost instinctively objected.

“Impossible. How could your sister do something like that?”

I said, “The three of us ate at the same table. The only difference was that Ye Yun gave me a glass of milk. Don’t tell me the milk had expired and developed its own toxins.”

“You don’t need to react so strongly. I don’t have evidence, and I’m not convicting her. It’s just that some things are obvious enough that anyone who isn’t a fool can see them. Even if Ye Yun didn’t do it herself, she knew about it!”

The original owner’s mother stared blankly at me.

“Then why did you say you felt unwell and were afraid your sister would worry?”

I shrugged.

“What else was I supposed to say? That Ye Yun drugged me? If you’d heard that, what would you have done first?”

The original owner’s mother fell silent.

I answered for her. “You would have called Ye Yun to verify it. Wouldn’t that have been pushing me straight into the fire pit? So, sometimes, a well-intentioned lie is absolutely necessary.”

The original owner’s mother was not biased.

Even though Ye Yun had a congenital heart condition, she had never mistreated her second daughter.

In the original owner’s story, the witnesses who caught them in bed included the original owner’s mother.

She slapped the original owner and brought her home.

If Ye Yun hadn’t begged bitterly, she never would have let the original owner marry her own brother-in-law.

Later, when the original owner killed herself, she was the one who cried the hardest.

Recovering from her initial shock, she raised a hand and stroked my head, her gaze firm.

“Mom will never let you suffer this injustice for nothing.”
