Chapter 3
Chapter 3
The next day at noon, Chu Huai took me out to eat.
We sat in the car, and I began reporting to him about Tao Muxue.
Chu Huai, like me, was twenty years old and a sophomore at Jing University, but he didn’t live on campus and rarely attended classes, so he wasn’t familiar with Tao Muxue’s life at school.
I reported meticulously:
“Young Master, Tao Muxue hasn’t encountered other difficulties recently, but she often skips breakfast in the morning and easily gets stomachaches. During class today, she had a bit of a stomachache.”
As I reported, I rubbed my eyes.
My eyes had been irritated by onions, so they really hurt, as if thunder was striking.
Because, just earlier in the dorm, Tao Muxue had asked me to make her a diet meal.
She said she wanted to lose weight; once she slimmed down to around ninety-seven pounds, she’d become even prettier, and then she’d ask Chu Huai out to dinner.
She said that when that day came, Chu Huai would see how beautiful she was and would definitely kick an ugly thing like me aside, then confess to her all over again.
I echoed, “He’ll definitely kick you aside,” while helping her make the diet meal.
While cutting onions, my eyes were irritated to tears and were still a bit red now.
Chu Huai rested one hand on the car window, listening indifferently as I reported on Tao Muxue’s stomachache.
The wind blew through his fringe, his black hair disheveled, falling over his sculpted brow bone.
When he glanced at me, he was taken aback.
Chu Huai hadn’t expected this.
He had only asked her to report on Tao Muxue’s recent situation, yet she was so heartbroken that her eyes were red from crying.
A huge possibility struck him like lightning.
Could Chen Yu actually like him?
That was it!
No wonder, when he had just confessed out of spite yesterday, she had agreed without hesitation.
She even called him ‘husband’!
She even said “gogogo”! Three go signals in a row. Had she been looking forward to this for ages?
Chu Huai thought it over and soon found more clues.
For example:
She used to always stick by Tao Muxue’s side, helping her carry bags, get meals, pick up packages, without a word of complaint.
Back then he didn’t understand, but now he got it.
It turned out she hung around Tao Muxue just to catch more glimpses of him!
No wonder; since childhood, the number of girls who confessed to him had been in the triple digits, so it wasn’t strange that Chen Yu’s heart would be moved.
At this thought, Chu Huai felt a bit guilty.
Chen Yu liked him so much, yet he still made her report on Tao Muxue’s recent situation.
No wonder she cried. Who the hell wouldn’t be sad?
Sigh, he was truly damned.
Sigh, Chen Yu was so dumb, so dim, so pitiful.
