Chapter 5
Chapter 5
I checked the time. Yunyuan was about to finish his cultivation for the day and come looking for Mo Yao.
I had to make Mo Yao storm off before he arrived.
I walked up to her and lifted my chin. On the surface, I looked unbearably arrogant. In reality, I was secretly picking at my fingers.
Whenever I lied, I couldn’t help picking at my fingers.
“I like Yunyuan!
“And Yunyuan likes me too.”
A sudden rumble came from outside, as if something had collapsed.
Mo Yao wasn’t affected at all. Disdain surfaced in her expression.
“Utter nonsense! That scum of a father of yours caused the deaths of the entire Dragon Clan. How could Yunyuan possibly like the daughter of his enemy?”
I refuted her almost on instinct.
“My father is my father, and I am me. We’re not the same!”
Tears welled in the corners of my eyes, trembling on the verge of falling.
I looked exactly like someone hopelessly in love with Yunyuan.
The System encouraged me:
“Great job! Keep that rhythm going!
“After making your conclusion, hurry up and present your evidence.”
Mo Yao’s face was cold.
“On what grounds do you claim Yunyuan likes you?”
I thought about it.
“He doesn’t like my father, and my father doesn’t like me. Two negatives make a positive, so he likes me.”
I was feeling a little pleased with myself and wanted to ask the System for praise.
The System sighed.
“Forget it. Just read from the panel.”
The System pulled up the lines on the panel.
“If Yunyuan doesn’t like me, why would he have brought me back to Dragon Valley?
“Has he ever let you touch the dragon scale over his heart?
“I have.
“I’ve touched every part of Yunyuan’s body. And you? Has Yunyuan ever, even once, approached you of his own accord?”
I read it all out as instructed.
Sure enough, Mo Yao’s defenses shattered, and she ran off.
I froze where I was. After waiting a while, I asked, “Why didn’t Yunyuan come looking for Mo Yao?”
The System said, “He arrived right when you said you liked Yunyuan. After hearing that line, he was so disgusted that he covered his face and zipped away. Now he’s outside, furious and slamming into coral with loud bangs.”
I nodded.
“So that collapsing sound just now was coral.”
I remembered that last time, when Yunyuan gave me a ride, he had also crashed into coral.
“Yunyuan seems to really like crashing into coral.”
The System said with certainty, “Because coral looks like dragon horns, obviously. He can’t grow dragon horns himself, so he won’t allow anyone else to grow them either. Petty as hell. No generosity whatsoever.”
The System glanced at the panel. “Looks like smashing into it really hit the spot for him. His excitement value shot way up again.”
Then the System earnestly taught me:
“You absolutely can’t get involved with a man like that.
“He’ll definitely end up crashing into his wife someday.”
I imitated its tone.
“Absolutely can’t get involved.”
The System let out a relieved breath, seemingly very satisfied with me.
Then it continued pushing the plot forward.
“Mo Yao has already run to the edge of Lao Marsh. Hurry over and push her in.”
After getting used to my tail, I could swim really fast.
In no time at all, I caught up to Lao Marsh.
