Chapter 2

I leaned softly against the back of the door and slowly turned around.

I usually sleep very deeply after drinking a bit of wine.

That was why Jing Shaochuan spoke without any restraint.

It was also a coincidence.

This time, I happened to wake up suddenly from a nightmare.

It was just in time to hear their conversation.

In that single instant, I was completely jolted awake from my Cinderella fairy tale.

But I didn’t push the door open and go in.

I didn’t confront him with tears or screams, either.

Since he could so brazenly lose me to another man in a bet, it meant that in his heart, I was absolutely nothing.

If I didn’t know my place and caused a scene, making him lose face, the consequences would be dire.

For wealthy heirs like them, crushing me would be as simple as crushing an ant.

I numbly returned to the bedside and lay back down.

I pulled up the covers, but I still felt my entire body trembling with cold.

Eventually, the bedroom door was pushed open.

I heard a man’s footsteps approaching the bed.

Following them was a faint scent of cold pine.

It was unfamiliar.

A scent Jing Shaochuan never wore.

I quietly clenched my fists and squeezed my eyes shut.

The duvet was gently lifted off me.

Then, I was gathered up into someone’s arms.

“Shuangjiang, go back to sleep at home.”

The man’s voice was slightly deeper than Jing Shaochuan’s, very alluring.

I simply pretended to know nothing.

Opening my eyes, I wrapped my arms softly around him and acted spoiled. “Shaochuan, what took you so long?”

His body visibly stiffened.

When he spoke again, his voice was even deeper.

“Have you been waiting long?”

“Mm… my head hurts.”

“You’ll feel better after some hangover soup later.”

He carried me out, his arms firm and powerful.

His steps were steady.

I buried my face in his chest, letting that quiet, elegant fragrance fill my nose.

“You smell so good tonight.”

“Do I?”

“Mm. It smells better than any of your previous colognes.”

“Do you like it?”

“I like it.”

His footsteps paused for a moment.

In the long corridor, the shadows from the lights were dim, and the place was already deserted.

He suddenly lowered his head, and a very light kiss landed on the corner of my lips.

“As long as you like it.”

I had first met Jing Sicheng two days ago.

It was also that day I learned Jing Shaochuan had a twin brother.

However, he lived abroad for years and rarely returned.

Jing Shaochuan seemed somewhat afraid of this Big Brother and never mentioned him.

That entire evening, the man had hardly looked at me.

From beginning to end, he had only said one thing to me:

“Miss Zhou has a very beautiful name.”

I didn’t know why he would agree to such an absurd bet tonight.

But I keenly sensed that if I wanted to escape this game of the wealthy elite unscathed, perhaps the only way out was through Jing Sicheng.

Subconsciously, from the first moment I saw him, I felt he and Jing Shaochuan were two completely different types of people.

Just as I stepped out of the bathroom, Jing Sicheng pulled me into his arms from behind, circling my waist.

When he lowered his head to kiss me, I couldn’t help but giggle. “Why are you in such a rush tonight, Shaochuan?”

The kiss landing on my lips faltered.

“Change how you address me, okay?”

“Then what do you want me to call you?”

“Do you remember what you usually call me?”

“I call you by your name, I call you Mr. Jing… oh right, I’ve even called you ‘husband’…”

The stalled kiss gradually grew fervent again. “Then, call me ‘Brother’ tonight. You haven’t called me that yet.”

“Brother?”

I opened my eyes in surprise.

But in the next instant, I was completely swallowed by a searing, highly aggressive kiss.

Jing Sicheng pressed me onto the bed.

Only the dim nightlight was on in the room.

I reached up to touch his features.

He tilted his face slightly, letting my fingers stroke him.

As my fingertips dropped, Jing Sicheng’s robe was thrown messily by the bedside, tangling with my pale crimson nightgown.

He leaned down, his large, powerful hands gripping my waist.

“Zhou Shuangjiang.”

“Mm?”

I opened my eyes hazily and saw his sexy, slightly prominent Adam’s apple bobbing violently.

In the next second, he suddenly lowered himself.

I let out a whimpering cry, my eyes already brimming with a layer of moisture.

Before the tear tracks could fall, they were kissed away by his scorching lips and tongue.

“Call me again.”

“Young Master Jing…”

A deep, heavy force shattered my voice.

I couldn’t help but look at him aggrievedly as another teardrop fell.

“How should you call me? Did you forget?”

He looked down at me from above.

“Brother.”

I sobbed, my fingertips sinking into the tight muscles of his forearms.

In the next second, the world spun.

My long hair fell loose.

The tips of my hair brushed against his abs, a tremor that made the heart skip a beat.

Jing Sicheng gripped my waist, the desire in his eyes gradually spiraling out of control.

“Zhou Shuangjiang, don’t stop.”

I whimpered again.

“Brother.”

“Brother…”
