Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Shao Yuhan finally tore the veil of pretense to shreds.
He stopped pretending and told me straight out that he liked me.
A CEO’s pursuit is always blunt and aggressive.
Private jets, yachts, diamonds, designer gowns, antiques, and paintings-if I could dream it, Shao Yuhan could afford it.
And compared to these material offerings, his personal attributes were just as impressive.
With sharp brows, starry eyes, broad shoulders, and a narrow waist, he was charming when he smiled and looked innocent when he didn’t. Every time I walked down the street with him, passersby would praise me for having such a catch.
But I’m an honest person; if I don’t like someone, I don’t like them.
I thought to myself that if this were a romance scam, I’d definitely fleece him for everything he was worth.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t.
Even I didn’t want to admit that beneath all this gold and silver lay his genuine heart.
To trick someone’s sincere heart is to invite a bolt from the blue.
So, after I rejected Shao Yuhan’s pursuit yet again, he went dark.
He owned a Waterfront Estate with a windowless, airtight Dark Room. Whenever I dared to run, he would drag me into that Dark Room and have rough sex with me.
Afterward, with a face still flushed from the heat, he would force me to marry him.
“Be my woman, and I will give you everything you want.”
He threatened to break my arms and legs and lock me by his side forever if I didn’t agree.
Of course, he said things like that countless times, but he never actually followed through.
Every time he caught me and brought me back, seeing my completely indifferent attitude, he would get so angry that the corners of his eyes would turn red, looking as if he were about to burst into tears.
Then I would behave for a while-
Mostly because I thought he looked pretty sexy when he cried.
At first, this game of cat and mouse was quite novel.
But as time went on, even I found it boring.
I couldn’t escape, and he couldn’t bring himself to actually hurt me.
Besides, the estate was huge, with plenty of unexplored corners; having rough sex in that cramped Dark Room every time was getting old.
So, on a bright and sunny morning, I married Shao Yuhan.
Most of the time, Shao Yuhan was overbearing in front of me.
Like every domineering superior, he wanted nothing more than to keep me tethered to his belt, monitoring my every move, second by second.
But he was also infinitely insecure. He knew our marriage was something he had begged for through despicable means, so he didn’t dare to truly lock me up at home like a Golden Canary.
He was constantly plagued by gains and losses, going crazy if he couldn’t see me.
Eventually, tormented by both insecurity and possessiveness, Shao Yuhan couldn’t help himself. While I was sleeping, he secretly planted GPS trackers in my phone and jewelry.
If he discovered I had been out for more than a day, he would appear within the hour to haul me back home.
Once I figured out this pattern, I simply started treating him like a chauffeur.
When I got tired of shopping, I’d just find a place to take a nap.
Anyway, by the time I woke up, I’d be lying in the big bed at home, dressed in my pajamas.
It was as convenient as an Anywhere Door.
Of course, the price was waking up every so often with fresh marks from Shao Yuhan helping himself to me.
