Chapter 5
Chapter 5
The car sped off, leaving Fu Zhiyang and me standing by the road, staring at each other.
Just before he was about to blow up, I smoothed out my messed-up hair.
“Kid, that’s not how you chase a girl.”
Fu Zhiyang’s face flushed bright red. “What the hell are you talking about?”
“Oh? You don’t like her? Then why did you let the air out of her tires?” I paused, then put on a look of sudden realization. “Oh, so you hate her. In that case, I’ll warn her later to stay far away from you and stop being an eyesore.”
Fu Zhiyang roared, “Are you insane?”
I looked at him with a faint, knowing smile.
Maybe because his little teenage secret had been discovered by someone he hated, and he couldn’t save face, he spun around and stormed off in a huff.
I followed at an unhurried pace.
“When you like someone, you have to use the right approach. If you keep causing her trouble and hurting her in the name of liking her, you’ll only push her farther and farther away.”
Fu Zhiyang’s steps slowed, but he didn’t stop.
I ignored that and went on, “Let me guess. At school, you still pull her pigtails, pretend to bump into her desk by accident, steal her stationery, and…”
“Shut up!” Fu Zhiyang stopped abruptly and turned to glare at me, though his face was a little red.
Oh. Looks like I’d guessed right.
“Tsk. Fine, I won’t say it.” I spread my hands. “And here I was about to tell you the proper way to chase a girl…”
Shaking my head, I walked around him and continued forward.
An Ran kept an eye on the movement behind me. “He’s grinding his foot against the ground where he is. He’s looking over. Now he’s scratching his head. Ahhh, he’s coming after you!”
Heh. I’d spent more than a decade clawing my way through society. You think I couldn’t handle you?
I let out a low chuckle and got onto the bus at the stop beside us.
I called back to Fu Zhiyang behind me, “Hurry up! We’re taking the bus home tonight!”
Maybe it was his first time riding a bus, because he found everything fascinating.
He touched this, looked at that.
Finally, with an extremely casual air, he brought up the topic. “Hey, you didn’t finish what you were saying earlier. I hate people who only say half of what they mean.”
This little tsundere was honestly kind of fun.
I stopped teasing him and said seriously, “When you like someone, you don’t have to bully her just to get her attention and make yourself special in her heart.”
Fu Zhiyang listened intently. “What else?”
“Be direct.” I patted him on the shoulder. “At an awkward, innocent age like this, a straight pitch is unbeatable.”
“As long as you give her your sincerity, she’ll feel it.”
