Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Zhuang Jinyu began training himself to resist his instincts.
But these things are like wounds; as long as you don’t notice them, their presence isn’t particularly overwhelming.
Once you notice it, however, and focus all your thoughts on it, it begins to erode all your senses.
Originally, the Young Master only stared at my mouth from time to time or wandered near me unconsciously.
But ever since he became aware of it and deliberately tried to restrain himself, he seemed to lose control even more.
One moment, he would be sitting at the furthest opposite end of the sofa from me, pinching his nose and telling me to keep my distance.
The next moment, the Young Master would be huddling close to me, his voice thick and clingy as he asked me to hold him.
“Xie Huo, you smell so good. Can I have a lick?”
It was like he had a split personality.
Fearing that he would be angry once he regained his senses, I could only try my best to push him away.
“This won’t do. Aren’t you supposed to be fighting your instincts? We need to keep our distance.”
Zhuang Jinyu didn’t say a word.
I looked down and saw the Young Master looking as if he had been terribly wronged, his eyes turning red.
“You’re the one who brought me to your house,” Zhuang Jinyu accused with a hint of resentment. “Now that you’ve got what you wanted, you don’t cherish me anymore? You’re bored of me? You don’t care if I live or die?”
What else could I say?
I immediately humbled myself and apologized to the sensitive Young Master. At his gesture, I held out my wrist, letting him gnaw and lick at it as he pleased.
Zhuang Jinyu didn’t use much force; it was more like he was playing. He slowly grazed the small patch of skin on my wrist with his lips and teeth.
He truly was the best doll I had ever made. Looking at the flexibility of that tongue, I felt like he could probably tie a knot in a cherry stem with it.
My thoughts drifted as I watched the Young Master “feed.”
By the time my wrist was nearly swollen from the licking, Zhuang Jinyu finally snapped out of it.
He took a few seconds to react. Once his pupils focused, he jerked away from my hand as if he had been bitten by a venomous snake.
*Thump.*
My wrist and the back of my hand were slammed against the coffee table.
Zhuang Jinyu and I spoke at the same time.
“I’m sorry,” I said.
“Are you okay? Did that hurt?!” Zhuang Jinyu asked.
He grabbed my hand back and carefully turned it over. Finding no bruises, he finally let go.
His tone was unpleasant. “What are you apologizing for? Are you some kind of punching bag? Someone else hurts you, and you apologize to them?”
“I’m not hurt,” I explained awkwardly. “I apologized because you told me to stop you, but I failed.”
When he was lucid, Zhuang Jinyu had repeatedly lectured me, insisting that I must refuse his unreasonable demands.
But I really couldn’t do it.
I was never good at saying no to people, and it was even more impossible to refuse Zhuang Jinyu.
Even though I knew he wasn’t in his right mind, as soon as the Young Master looked aggrieved, I forgot everything else.
Zhuang Jinyu looked at me with frustration at my lack of backbone.
“Instead of apologizing to me after the fact, you should find a way to become more assertive. What’s so hard about refusing an unreasonable request? You have to learn.”
He thought for a moment, then added a line, knowing me all too well:
“I believe in you. Don’t let me down.”
I immediately summoned the determination of a student preparing for the college entrance exams. “I will!”
