Chapter 3
Chapter 3
And so, my life living together with Young Master Zhuang began.
To protect his living soul from being jarred or dispersed, I had no choice but to force him to stay confined in my home.
Zhuang Jinyu was, of course, not particularly pleased about this.
However, seeing my bitter pleading and hearing my vow to send him home as soon as the time was up, the Young Master reluctantly settled in.
Even a Young Master without his memories was still a Young Master; his requirements for quality of life remained ridiculously high.
Though I didn’t understand how he could feel that the bedsheets weren’t “skin-friendly” enough while inhabiting a doll’s body, it didn’t stop me from miserably placing a same-city delivery order and changing them for him overnight.
Watching me work like a pack animal to change his sheets, Zhuang Jinyu couldn’t help but lapse into conspiracy theories again.
“You aren’t even angry when I push you around like this. You must be after something.”
“You’re so eager to change my sheets… You don’t want to sleep with me, do you?!”
I stroked the silk sheets beneath my hands, which had cost over a thousand yuan.
While I was indeed curious about what such expensive sheets felt like to sleep on, I still told the truth.
“There’s a spare cot in the workshop. I’ll sleep there. You can rest easy.”
I have self-awareness; I would never covet things I shouldn’t hope for.
Being able to talk to Zhuang Jinyu from such a close distance was already enough to satisfy me.
Zhuang Jinyu glanced at me.
Then he glanced at me again.
“No,” he squeezed out, his expression strange.
I looked back at him in confusion.
While the Young Master was kind and soft-hearted, he wasn’t the type to be particularly chivalrous or tender toward women. In his eyes, all living beings were equal-men and women received the same treatment.
The kind of scenario where he’d have a sudden burst of conscience and give up his bed to a woman would never happen.
“No. That room is full of dolls that look exactly like me. Who knows what kind of weird things you’d do with them at night? You’re not allowed to sleep in that room.”
I knew it.
Zhuang Jinyu didn’t trust my guarantees, nor would he allow me to sleep on the sofa in the living room.
For the same reason as above: he didn’t trust my character and thought I would sneak into the Studio in the middle of the night to do this or that.
“Then I…” Should I go find a hotel to stay in?
Zhuang Jinyu waved his hand, announcing in a tone that brooked no opposition:
“You’re sleeping in this room. You’ll make a bed on the floor next to mine so it’s easier for me to keep an eye on you.”
Me: “…?”
Sleeping on the floor was fine; it was actually more comfortable than the cot or the sofa.
But the Young Master’s sense of safety seemed to fluctuate wildly.
I didn’t understand. “If I sleep in the same room as you, aren’t you in more danger?”
Zhuang Jinyu seemed to just realize this, his beautiful eyes widening instantly.
“You’d actually dare to launch a night raid?!”
I hurried to soothe him. “I wouldn’t, I wouldn’t. I was just joking.”
Wasn’t it a joke, though? Even if I really wanted to do something to him, he didn’t exactly have the… hardware… right now. Ahem.
Oh, the dense Young Master hadn’t discovered that part yet.
