Chapter 7
Chapter 7
I knew it: I had destroyed his desires.
Whether as a killer or a follower, the murder of a frail young girl could no longer satisfy his cravings.
But that wasn’t the most important part.
What mattered was that after spending a little time, I had successfully tracked him down.
By then, dawn had just broken.
I gave my unlucky brother a call.
Sure enough, he was already up.
From the sounds on the other end, it seemed like they had brought out the police dogs.
My heart stirred slightly. They were deploying K9 units this early in the morning?
“Brother, did another body turn up?”
My brother said helplessly, “Yingying, I really can’t tell you anything.”
I turned my head to look at my computer. The screen showed the tracked location: the funeral parlor.
With things as they were, there was a high probability that no body would be left behind.
“Then let me tell you instead. I’ve hooked him. His location is at the funeral parlor.”
My brother paused noticeably, then started cursing under his breath.
“I’ll come see you this afternoon,” he said.
Even though he had realized something was wrong, he still had to make this trip.
I was catching up on sleep in the afternoon when he let himself in.
I scratched my head and turned on the computer.
“Brother, look at this post from this morning.”
The post had directly exposed the police’s confidential operation.
Specifically: during the autopsy, a finger belonging to another victim was found in the deceased’s stomach, along with evidence of certain geographical characteristics.
But the killer had placed it there intentionally; it was originally meant to be a part of his game.
My brother stared at my screen. “He’s insane…”
“He’s losing his cool.”
That was why, despite being able to watch the spectacle quietly, he had chosen to leak this detail.
However, this ID wasn’t the one from last night-Good Person Peaceful Life-but one called Chasing Light.
I had already compared them. These two did not share the same IP address.
Faint traces of anger appeared on my brother’s face.
I asked, “This ID, Chasing Light, claims to be an insider. Do you think he is?”
He said no.
“The killer made a mistake, and he doesn’t even know it yet.”
Finding a breakthrough just from a single finger?
He truly lived up to his reputation.
“Then he already has followers. Or, of course, they could be accomplices.”
My brother eventually left, taking the account information and IP sources I provided with him.
I glanced at the computer.
Chasing Light was still posturing: [The police can’t find any evidence. Total defeat…]
I thought to myself: Luckily, I’m not a cop. I don’t need evidence.
I ignored him and sent a private message to Good Person Peaceful Life.
[I’m coming for you.]
