Chapter 2

I held the disc in my hand. Interesting. The resentment pouring off it was tremendous.

After watching it, sure enough, a faint trace of yin energy and resentment clung to me, just as it did to Song Feifei.

This was intriguing. I decided to take a trip to Jiang University with her.

Jiang University wasn’t far from where we lived, only a little over an hour by car. Song Feifei went home especially to pick out a flashy sports car, just to show off.

“Let’s go! Time to show those little boys what a rich big sister looks like! Hahahaha!”

We arrived at Jiang University with every eye on us. Song Feifei opened the door, stepped out, and tossed her hair with practiced allure. As expected, she drew plenty of heated stares.

But before she could finish basking in it, the girls nearby rushed forward as if they’d gone mad.

A white Lamborghini was rolling slowly along the wide road.

I narrowed my eyes. Well, well. That car cost even more.

Since becoming friends with Song Feifei, I’d learned luxury cars, watches, and designer goods like the back of my hand.

Both cars were the same brand, but the other one was a limited edition. It cost over two million yuan more than hers.

Song Feifei grabbed my hand angrily.

“Lingzhu, he’s stealing my spotlight! Did you see that? He’s actually stealing my spotlight!”

I rolled my eyes. Song Feifei was used to throwing her weight around. Wherever she went, she had to be the center of attention. Now her car wasn’t as expensive as his and her crowd wasn’t as big, and she’d lost her temper instantly.

She dragged me forward in a huff.

“Let’s see who the hell thinks he can make a bigger entrance than me!”

“Holy fucking shit. He’s gorgeous!”

The sky was overcast, but the moment the boy stepped out of the car, I felt as though the whole world had brightened.

He was so pale!

It was like he was glowing!

Song Feifei and I stood rooted to the spot, dazzled by him. It took us ages to recover.

Girls surrounded him on every side. The air filled with noisy slurps as they drooled over him.

“Sluuurp!”

The loudest one, unmistakably, came from right beside me.

I turned to Song Feifei, speechless. What happened to being steadfast and immune to male beauty?

Had the men she’d met before simply not been handsome enough?

“Oh my God! Lingzhu, he’s looking at me! He smiled at me! Aaaaah, he’s coming over!”

“Oh no, oh no. He must have fallen for me at first sight. How am I going to turn him down?”

“I’ve already pledged myself to the Daoist path. Damn it! How can I honor both the Buddha and my beloved?”

The man did stop in front of Song Feifei. Before she could finish getting excited, however, he shoved her aside and walked up to me.

“I’m Ou Chenyi. You smell wonderful. Can I have your contact details?”
