Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Jun Qingyu and I were a couple famous for miles around for our deep affection.
I possessed a brute strength that allowed me to hunt and chop wood with ease.
He was refined and scholarly, making his living as a schoolteacher.
Whenever the neighbors saw me, they would always praise my luck, saying the Lady of the Jun Family was truly blessed to have a husband as beautiful as a celestial immortal.
An immortal he may have been, but when he turned seductive-he was a true demon…
“Don’t bite…”
I tilted my neck back, trying to push him away while gasping for air. “I have to go into town to sell fabric tomorrow. If you do this… how can I face anyone?”
Jun Qingyu acted as if he hadn’t heard a word, focusing all his attention on nipping and sucking at my skin.
Since our wedding night, I had discovered that while he was cold and elegant in public, he was like a wolf or a tiger in bed.
Moreover, he had a very peculiar hobby.
He had a specific obsession with biting my neck.
His teeth never left my skin; he even held a thin piece of my flesh between them while his cold, narrow eyes flashed with an indescribable, predatory light.
It was a look of greed, yet also of pure enjoyment.
Afterward, I lay on the bed, pressing the base of my neck and hissing in pain.
“Does it hurt?” He turned on his side to look at me, propping his head up with one hand while the other slowly toyed with my scattered hair.
I sighed and turned to face him as well.
“Qingqing, if you’re that hungry, I’ll slaughter a full-grown hen tomorrow. With a neck that long, you can suck and gnaw on it all you want. I won’t even care if you bite so hard you create sparks-so why must you take it out on me?”
His slender fingers slowly moved to the mottled red marks, rubbing and kneading them. Jun Qingyu’s voice was soft and low:
“Biting you isn’t because I’m hungry. Well… perhaps I am, but more importantly, this is a person’s most vulnerable vital point.
“If it weren’t me, if it were anyone else, would you dare let them touch it, let alone bite it?”
“Of course not!”
I let him brush his fingertips across my throat without the slightest defense, saying candidly, “But we are husband and wife. We share a bed in life and a grave in death. Even when our souls enter the Underworld, we’ll cross the Naihe Bridge hand in hand… Do you know what the most important thing is between a husband and wife?”
“Love?” he asked.
I shook my head, caught his hand in mine, and said with a smile:
“It’s trust. It’s reliance. It’s a bond where lives are entrusted to one another. Only with these can a love as unyielding as rock and willow silk grow.
“But if there is only love without trust, then it’s merely a fleeting heartbeat that will vanish in an instant.”
I snuggled into his arms, wrapping one hand around his slender waist, and squinted with a shallow smile. “Qingqing, when I first saw you after losing my memory, I only felt my heart race. I suppose that was driven by love. But after being married to you for so long, beyond love, there is nothing but trust.”
My heartfelt confession didn’t earn me any similar pillow talk in return.
Instead, he let out a low chuckle.
“…How rare. To think that in this lifetime, I would hear the word ‘trust’ from your lips.”
His words left me quite puzzled.
Before I could ask for clarification, he flipped over and pinned me down. His fingers continued to wander over my neck, but his eyes were now brimming with a seductive allure.
“Your trust has come a bit late. However, late is better than never. Such a fragile vital point… even a God of Slaughter who commands three armies couldn’t survive a single fatal blow here. But if I wanted your life, I would never strike at this spot.
“I would find another way to make you die from pure ecstasy…”
…
This demon specifically drains a person’s essence, delighting in his nightly rituals until dawn. I fear I truly won’t live much longer.

The General Above
I woke up in my arch-rival’s bed.
His clothes were in disarray, his body was covered in red marks, and his eyes were clouded with the lingering haze of intimacy.
