Chapter 11
The End
Extra: His Perspective
Not long ago, I finally found a doctor who could cure my eyes.
I’d kept it from Ah Xue, wanting to surprise her.
After the long recovery, I finally opened my eyes to a world full of color again. But none of that mattered anymore.
All I wanted now was to see her.
Tracing her features with my fingertips and hearing other people describe her charms had long since stopped being enough.
Jealousy had begun driving me mad. Why could everyone else see her face, her smiles, so easily, while I could only steal careful glimpses of her in my dreams like some miserable thief?
I was losing my mind. I couldn’t bear it any longer!
Thankfully, all of that was finally about to end.
My assistant sent me her location, and I went straight to her favorite dessert shop.
Through the window, I spotted her at once, biting her straw. Her expressions were always so vivid and captivating. One look was enough to know she was my wife.
I approached with flowers in my arms. Suddenly, a young man popped up beside her and said something that made her beam.
I knew my wife had a wandering eye. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have fallen for me at first sight…
But now she seemed about to fall for some other bastard!
One younger than me, too. Fresher.
Feeling rather dejected, I went home alone.
She didn’t come back until evening. Even then, she only cupped my face, gave me a kiss, and said casually, “You’ve worked hard, honey.”
In the past, even after a business trip of just one week, she’d been wildly enthusiastic the day I returned.
This time I’d been away for a whole month, and she was so cool about it.
When a woman stopped being enthusiastic about you, there could only be one explanation.
She’d already satisfied her appetite elsewhere before coming home!
I knew it. That pretty boy hadn’t looked like a decent person. He had the nerve to seduce my wife!
No. I had to find a way to win back her heart.
While showering, I deliberately made a little noise to get her attention.
It took her ages to respond, and even then all I got was a perfunctory, “You okay?”
I’d even left the door unlocked for her, and she showed no intention of coming in!
Just as I’d thought. Once a woman had you, she stopped treasuring you.
I deliberately kept quiet, then made an even louder noise.
At last, my wife caught on and rushed inside. The moment she looked up at me, something changed in her eyes.
She finally came over, rose on tiptoe, and looped her arms around my neck.
I laughed softly, leaned close to her ear, and said what I’d wanted to tell her for so long.
“Sweetheart, you’re beautiful.”
