Chapter 4
Chapter 4
Before I could even open my mouth, they knocked me to the ground.
As expected, I got the crap beaten out of me.
The comments above my head flew by at high speed-
[Holy crap, someone who bullies people at school can be the female lead?]
[To the person above, has it occurred to you that this is a psycho heroine novel? It said right at the start that the heroine, Zhu Shiqing, is a morally bankrupt lunatic. If you don’t like it, close the tab already.]
[Exactly. Our baby Shiqing’s motto is, “As long as I’m happy, who cares who suffers?” It’s so addictive!]
[I just went back and checked the earlier chapters. This cannon fodder, Cheng Xin, really is miserable. She’s the real daughter, and the heroine Zhu Shiqing is the fake daughter. The Zhu Family knows all of this, but they love the fake daughter and have no intention of swapping them back.]
?
Wait. I’m the real daughter?
[You think that’s bad? There’s worse. Zhu Shiqing was jealous that Cheng Xin was the real daughter, so before Cheng Xin’s high school entrance exam, she sent people to break her right hand. Cheng Xin actually forced herself to write with her left hand and took the exam anyway.]
?
So she was the one behind that?
[That’s nothing. I’ve got an even worse one. Zhu Shiqing paid a violent XYY guy five hundred thousand yuan to propose marriage to Cheng Xin. The bride price was five hundred thousand, and Cheng Xin’s family agreed immediately.]
I stared at the comments in shock, so stunned I couldn’t even feel the pain all over my body anymore.
[This female lead is disgusting. Sorry, I’m dropping this novel.]
[Then get lost. Pigs don’t know how to appreciate fine feed, huh? The beginning clearly warned you that the female lead is crazy. You insisted on reading it, and now you’re complaining.]
[Hahaha, Cheng Xin: If suffering were a talent, I’d be a genius.]
[We’re here for the psycho vibes lolol. Besides, Zhu Shiqing is second in the grade and gorgeous. Watching a crazy beauty do whatever she wants is honestly so satisfying.]
What the actual hell!
Female lead, if you want to go crazy, go crazy at someone who can fight you on equal footing.
What are you doing chasing after a sewer rat like me and beating me up?
Do you just hate rats that much?
Maybe rage really was a powerful thing, because I suddenly broke free from the people pinning me down.
I slammed hard into the female lead, then turned and ran for my life.
In the next instant, a sharp pain tore through my scalp.
Zhu Shiqing had grabbed my hair and yanked me straight back.
She spoke arrogantly, as if she were dealing with trash. “Did I say you could leave?!”
I turned my head and bit down on her hand, ripping off a chunk of flesh.
In an instant, she let out a scream of agony, her pretty little face turning deathly pale.
She flung me away, blood pouring nonstop from her right hand.
This was probably the worst injury she had suffered in her entire life.
Her lackeys immediately panicked. Some called 120, while others searched for something to stop the bleeding.
Seizing the opportunity, I locked onto one of the boys who had just beaten me and kicked him viciously in the crotch.
He screamed. I bolted.
It was pouring outside.
Behind me, people were chasing after me.
Through the thick, blurry curtain of rain, I saw two people up ahead.
It was Jiang Shengchen in his school uniform, and the driver holding an umbrella for him.
School had only just let out. He was probably about to go home.
To me, he looked like a savior.
Great! Medical resources acquired!
The next second, I deliberately crashed into Jiang Shengchen’s arms.
Covered in injuries, I pretended to faint.
Jiang Shengchen hurriedly caught me. His voice was taut with anxiety, full of heartache he couldn’t hide.
“What happened to you? Cheng Xin!”
His tone was urgent as he roared at the driver, “Call the private doctor!”
Leaning against Jiang Shengchen, I peeked through the tiniest slit in my eyes and saw Zhu Shiqing, who had chased me out.
Her face was pale, her expression full of disbelief, and her knuckles were clenched white.
In the pouring rain, her hand was still bleeding.
A boy handed her some gauze with a fawning smile.
She took it and smashed it onto the ground, glaring viciously in our direction without even blinking.
