Chapter 5
Chapter 5
I rolled my eyes.
“Then do I look like Liu Yifei to you?”
Song Feifei curled her lip in disdain.
“You don’t. I do.”
Looks like her brain wasn’t broken. She was still the same smug, narcissistic Song Feifei, so I didn’t take it to heart.
But when I got home and checked my phone, I realized something terrible had happened.
I’d left in such a hurry that I’d forgotten to exit the livestream!
The screen had been black, but every word we’d said had gone out through my phone.
By now, the chat had already gone insane. Countless viewers were scrambling to discuss the case.
Some said Zhang Qianran had been cursed by a head-lowering spell. Some said she’d been poisoned by gu. Others said she’d been given some kind of drug.
I reopened the livestream and cleared my throat.
“Ahem. Everything just now was a scene we arranged in advance. So? Was it exciting or what?”
“Ahahaha, it was all hype. If you took it seriously, you already lost.”
The chat went quiet for a moment. Then comments exploded across the screen like a tidal wave.
“I treated the streamer like a person, but the streamer treated me like an idiot!”
“I know that cop! He was the school heartthrob at my high school. He got into the police academy after the college entrance exam!”
“I wonder what Zhang Qianran, the girl who called the police, looks like. Song Feifei went to the most famous private high school in our city, so if she’s her classmate, she must’ve gone there too.”
I wiped away a cold sweat. Netizens were terrifyingly good at digging things up. To keep them from doxxing the people involved, I quickly ended the livestream.
Less than a minute after I left the livestream, every single product listed in my shop sold out.
Delighted, I grabbed my phone, wanting to show Song Feifei, only to find her digging out a pile of makeup and fussing with it in front of the mirror.
“It’s the middle of the night. What are you doing?”
Anxious, Song Feifei twisted out an eyebrow pencil, then put it down. A moment later, she picked up an eyebrow razor, looked it over, and still wasn’t satisfied. In the end, she took out her phone and started frantically buying makeup.
“I think my eyebrows are too thick. Chen Xin definitely won’t like them like this!”
The expression on her face was frantic and urgent, even carrying a hint of madness.
I finally realized how serious this was. Something was wrong with Song Feifei. That Chen Xin really did have a problem.
I focused and looked at Song Feifei. Her body was perfectly clean. No yin energy, no ghostly aura, no gu poisoning, and no curse.
I was born with Yin-Yang Eyes. That was also why my master had favored me since I was little. He said Heaven had given me a gift.
As long as I devoted myself to cultivation, I would definitely become a grandmaster one day.
Ordinary ghostly tricks could never escape my sight. This was the first time I sensed something was wrong but couldn’t see anything at all.
If my eyes wouldn’t work, then I’d use something else.
I walked over to Song Feifei, leaned close, and started sniffing her like a police dog.
A familiar scent. The same one I’d smelled on Chen Xin that afternoon.
But the trace on Song Feifei was much fainter, which was why I hadn’t noticed it at first.
That scent filled me with uncontrollable panic and heart palpitations. It even gave me the urge to kneel and kowtow.
My pupils suddenly contracted. This was the scent of a god!
Song Feifei and Chen Xin both carried the aura of a deity.
How was that possible?
“Song Feifei, take off your clothes.”
Song Feifei was holding the mirror like a magnifying glass, searching inch by inch for flaws in her features and skin.
When she heard me, she froze for a second, then looked at me in sudden realization.
“Right! Hurry and check for me. Is my waist thicker? Are my legs too muscular? I need to start losing weight right away!”
Song Feifei quickly stripped off her jacket and pants, standing in the middle of the room in nothing but her underwear, not seeming to mind the cold at all.
I took a deep breath, circulated all my inner force to my eyes, chanted the Clear-Sight Spell, and focused on Song Feifei again.
On Song Feifei’s fair wrist, a Red Thread was appearing.
Wrapped around that Red Thread were dense layers of terrifying thought-power and wish-power.
My whole body shook. I stared at that Red Thread in disbelief.
Was this… Yue Lao’s Red Thread of Fate?
