Chapter 3
The expression on Yu Mingsheng’s face froze for a split second, and he instinctively glanced down beside his leg.
I stared at him without saying a word.
For some reason, Yu Mingsheng suddenly felt uncomfortable all over.
Pretending everything was normal, he took a step back. “Take your dog and get lost. I’m feeling merciful today, so I’ll let you off this once.”
With that, he shoved me aside. Then, while he was at it, he kicked Ah Huang’s body into the filthy gutter beside us.
I rolled my eyes slightly.
Then I reached out and grabbed Yu Mingsheng by the wrist.
“You dirtied its body.”
Yu Mingsheng found it funny. “So what?”
I raised my eyes to look at him. My pupils were so pale they were almost gray-white. “You have to compensate it with another one.”
Yu Mingsheng started trembling. Cold sweat slid down his forehead.
He opened his mouth, trying to call for help, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t make a sound.
It was as if an invisible hand had clamped around his throat.
All he could do was watch helplessly as the person he looked down on most slowly reached toward him, five fingers covering his face…
At the mouth of the alley,
someone was already getting impatient from waiting.
It was the boy who had secretly followed me into the alley at dusk, hoping to do something wicked-Huang Hui.
If he hadn’t tattled, Yu Mingsheng wouldn’t have even remembered to come deal with that dog.
Thinking he’d used the school bully to vent his personal grudge, Huang Hui felt rather pleased with himself.
He glanced into the depths of the alley. “Why isn’t he out yet?”
“What’s the rush?” someone said, shooting him a look.
After waiting a little longer, Huang Hui’s patience ran out. He flicked the cigarette in his hand onto the ground and turned toward the alley. “I’ll go take a look.”
He had only taken a few steps when he suddenly stopped.
A person walked out of the dim alley.
Huang Hui let out a breath of relief. “Young Master Yu.”
Yu Mingsheng looked at him, then walked past him toward the outside.
As he passed by Huang Hui, Yu Mingsheng paused. His nose twitched twice in an eerily strange way.
Huang Hui froze. “What’s wrong?”
The moment the words left his mouth, Yu Mingsheng abruptly turned and lunged at him, knocking him to the ground. His fists rained down on Huang Hui’s head and body.
Huang Hui was stunned. He screamed as he shielded his head.
His cries drew the other boys over.
Everyone looked at one another, but no one stepped forward to pull Yu Mingsheng away.
After all, everyone knew Young Master Yu had a volatile temper and did whatever he wanted.
Once Yu Mingsheng wore himself out, he left, panting heavily.
No one knew why he had suddenly attacked Huang Hui. Even Huang Hui himself had no idea.
But I knew.
Because Huang Hui had bullied me before, and Ah Huang was taking revenge for me.
…
The next morning, I went to class as usual.
My classmates looked at me with confusion in their eyes.
They all knew Yu Mingsheng had taken a group of people to deal with me, yet there wasn’t a single bruise on my face.
That struck them as strange.
The teacher entered the classroom after me. Everyone quieted down, and their gazes moved away from me.
