About a minute later, the guy who had been so aloof just now that he wouldn’t spare me a single extra glance appeared in front of me again.

He had run back.

His slightly drooping puppy-dog eyes were frighteningly bright.

He was even better-looking than he was on video. His features were sharp yet harmonious, and his whole being radiated youthful energy.

I got a very direct sense of the height difference that came with him being 185 centimeters tall.

“Jiejie, didn’t you say you wouldn’t have time to meet until next month?”

He Lin clearly hadn’t been mentally prepared for this, but even his voice was brimming with joy.

Compared to how he sounded through my earphones, it felt more real-and even nicer.

This was the first time he and I had met offline.

In fact, we had only learned what each other looked like last weekend.

I had been in a three-year online relationship with the young, handsome guy standing in front of me.

Back in my senior year of college, I had too much free time and got hooked on a certain game. Unfortunately, I wasn’t very good at it, so I met someone online to play with.

He carried me for a while, and later, when my internship got busy, he even logged in for me every day to finish my daily tasks.

Originally, it was a very pure revolutionary friendship.

Until one day, while I had the game running, my mom came in with a smile and stuffed a few profiles of guys my age into my hands.

“Baby, trust your mom’s taste. These boys are definitely handsome. Why don’t you get to know them?”

I couldn’t turn her down. Those families were all old friends of ours.

So I could only agree to meet each of them once.

After my mom left, a voice suddenly came through my earphones. “Jiejie, actually… I’m not bad-looking either.”

…

That was three years ago.

“I have a business trip here in a few days, so I came early to see you.” I paused. “Am I welcome?”

He Lin’s gaze was still on me. Hearing that, he quickly said, “Of course. You haven’t been to our campus before, right? I’ll take you in and show you around?”

“Actually, I…” have.

Before I could finish, someone walked over from the side and accidentally bumped into me.

I staggered and pitched straight forward.

Into He Lin’s arms.

His breath hitched, but he reached out to steady my shoulders. Once I had my balance, he said, “Let’s go.”

Over voice chat, he called me baby this and baby that all day long, but now that we had actually met, there was, strangely enough, a bit of unfamiliarity.

Not exactly unfamiliarity. It was just… weird.

Over the past three-plus years, from the game to private contact details, we had talked about everything under the sun. In truth, we had shared plenty of personal information.

We had even sent each other gifts more than a dozen times, though all of them had been mailed.

He Lin walked beside me, and I could feel his gaze landing on my face from time to time.

He was taller than me, so it was much easier for him to look at me than for me to look at him.

I lifted my eyes and happened to meet his gaze before he could dodge away. My eyes curved with a smile. “So? I look the same as I did on video, right?”

The boy beside me suddenly went a little red at the tips of his ears.

After a long while, I heard him say, “You’re even prettier than you were on video…”
