Chapter 7
I slapped my forehead. How could I have forgotten about him?
“Xu Haoze! Pee on it!”
“Wh-what?”
“A virgin boy’s urine is the best for driving out evil and warding off misfortune. Hurry up and spray her with it!”
Xu Haoze’s handsome face flushed crimson, so red it was clearly visible even in the dim room.
“Now?”
“What are you standing there for? Whip it out!!!”
Xu Haoze blushed to the tips of his ears and stuck his neck out, looking like some idiot who would rather die than be humiliated.
I had no choice but to settle for the next best thing.
I casually grabbed the vase on the coffee table, tossed out the flowers, poured out the water, and handed him the bowl-mouthed vase.
“Pee in this, then. Hey, I won’t look. Go pee by the door. Look at you~”
He glared at me, but in the end, he still took the vase and headed for the door.
Quite a while later, Xu Haoze came back in with a stormy expression, vase in hand.
“Wow, that smell is strong. You must have been eating too much meat lately. Got a bit of internal heat going on.”
“Lu! Qing! Yu!”
Xu Haoze ground out my name through clenched teeth, looking like he wanted to pounce over and clamp a hand over my mouth.
Master said I was born at midnight on the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month, with natural-born Yin-Yang Eyes.
After years of training, these eyes of mine could already be called dharma eyes.
When it came to cultivating the Qi Observation Technique, I had even surpassed Master by a little.
I quickly found the spot where the mist was thickest. The moment I splashed the virgin boy’s urine over it, the mist churned like boiling water, bubbling violently in an instant.
After a few rounds of that, the musty smell in the room was swept clean.
In its place was the stench of urine.
Uh. This place was probably going to need a deep clean.
Once all the malicious spirits had been dealt with, I turned on the lights. Xu Haoze and I searched the house together and found every vessel the evil ghosts had been attached to.
At the bottom of the pen holder in his bedroom was a small paper figure covered in talismans.
Inside the Strawberry Bear in Xu Weiyang’s room, we dug out a blackened piece of bone. It looked like it was probably a child’s finger bone.
In his grandmother’s room, we found a box under the bed. Inside was a three-inch-long centipede.
Then, in the flowerpot in the living room, we dug out a dried cat’s paw, black and hard, its claws still glinting.
Last was his parents’ room, where we found a bloodstained copper coin beneath the table lamp.
By then, the sky was already turning pale. Xu Haoze’s family sat around the living room, staring at the things we had found, each of their faces darker than the last.
“Young Master, thank you so much for today.”
A rich, gentle voice sounded, and I couldn’t help blushing a little.
I had thought Xu Haoze was already handsome enough, but it wasn’t until I saw his father that I understood what it truly meant to be breathtaking.
Time had left no trace on this man’s face. I strongly suspected Nüwa had given him some kind of fifty-percent-off, take-twenty-years-off deal, because he looked thirty at most.
At that moment, he was just sitting there in casual loungewear, but his entire bearing was so extraordinary that, for a second, I thought I had wandered onto the set of a fashion shoot.
So this was what people meant by a refined gentleman, warm and smooth as jade. For the first time, I finally understood.
