Chapter 3
Chapter 3
The laughter stopped dead. Xu Weiyang covered her mouth and stared at me in shock.
“As for you, the black aura on you is lighter. It should be the Poverty Ghost. You’ve lost quite a few things recently, haven’t you?”
Xu Weiyang’s expression changed completely, and she even uncrossed her legs.
I turned to look at the beautiful, dignified woman sitting ramrod straight.
“Auntie, the one on you should be the Bad Luck Ghost. The kind that makes you choke even when you’re drinking cold water.”
“There should be two other people in your family, affected by the Consumption Ghost and the Wrath Ghost.”
“One has been constantly ill lately, big problems and small ones, and has to run to the hospital every day.”
“The other will suddenly become manic and furious, and start liking to smash things and hit people.”
The room fell completely silent. The atmosphere was so still that I started to doubt myself.
Had I gotten it wrong?
Impossible. It definitely looked like the Five Ghosts House-Suppressing Art.
“Someone, bring tea. Bring the good tea!”
The beautiful woman was the first to stand.
“Aunt Liu, oh my, we have an honored guest! Look at you, you haven’t even cut the fruit yet. Hurry!!!”
Xu Weiyang also sprang up and rushed toward the kitchen.
Xu Haoze, meanwhile, smoothed his hair and struck an outrageously handsome pose.
“Daoist Qingyu, what do we need to do next?”
I had to admit, Xu Haoze really did have a face Nüwa must have sculpted with great care.
His teeth were too white, and his smile was too dazzling.
It almost made me want to give him a discount on the five million.
Black dog blood, glutinous rice, incense ash, a rooster over ten years old, and a pile of coins.
Rich people really did get things ready fast. I gave everything a quick once-over and nodded in satisfaction.
To lure the Five Ghosts out, two members of this family had to act with me.
Xu Haoze, who volunteered, and Xu Weiyang, who cried the entire time, stayed behind.
I also prepared another room, snapping ink lines along the walls and door and pasting talismans around it.
There was bound to be a fierce battle tonight. When the time came, Xu Haoze’s parents could stay in that room, which would ensure their safety.
“Sister Qingyu, I’m not going to die, am I…?”
“Why don’t we just forget it? I feel like losing money isn’t that big a deal. I’m rich anyway, so I’m not afraid of losing things. But I’m scared of the dark and ghosts, waaah…”
Xu Weiyang followed me every step of the way, tightly clinging to my arm as if she wanted to plaster her entire body against me.
At midnight, I brought Xu Haoze and Xu Weiyang to stand at the villa entrance.
All the servants had been given the night off. Now, only the Xu Family remained in this house.
The pitch-black villa stood with its doors wide open, like the gaping maw of some enormous beast, as though it meant to swallow us all whole.
“Wuuuuuuuu~”
I rolled my eyes helplessly.
“The atmosphere is already spooky enough. You don’t need to provide the sound effects, Little Sister Weiyang.”
“But I’m scared…”
