Chapter 5

After dealing with the Wrath Ghost without any real danger, I hurriedly pulled out all my supplies and checked them one by one.

The glutinous rice had been swapped out for Northeastern rice. The black dog blood smelled suspiciously like duck blood.

The incense ash had been replaced with mosquito-coil ash. The coins had turned into arcade tokens. The big rooster had become a little rooster.

Wow. Not a single thing was usable.

But the formation had already been partially broken. There was no stopping now.

“Weiyang, you should leave first. It’ll be too dangerous from here on out. The formation is broken, so as long as one of you siblings stays, that’s enough.”

Xu Weiyang glared at me angrily.

“Sister Qingyu, do I look like the kind of person who would abandon her friends?”

“Farewell!”

With that, she raised both fists in a quick salute, then sprinted toward the front door at a hundred-meter-dash speed.

Xu Haoze watched her retreating figure with a face full of indulgent affection.

“That little girl.”

Holding back the pain, I pulled a few yellow talismans and a peachwood sword from my bag and shoved them into Xu Haoze’s arms.

“From here on, we can only crush them with brute force. I might not be able to look after you.”

“This peachwood sword can ward off evil and injure ghosts. If any ghosts get close to you, hack at them as hard as you can.”

“If you really can’t beat them, throw the yellow talismans. Watch your own safety.”

Xu Haoze looked at me, deeply moved, his eyes even turning red.

“Daoist Qingyu, you’re giving all the ritual tools to me. What about you?”

I pulled a coin sword from my bag. The blade had an ancient, simple look, and a faint sheen flowed over it. At a glance, it was a hundred times stronger than the peachwood sword.

“I’m using this.”

Naturally, the best weapon had to be in the hands of the strongest person in order to unleash its true purpose.

Xu Haoze’s expression became a little hard to describe.

In the dim light, his handsome face looked even more striking, his features deep and his contours sharp.

“Oh, right. Are you still a virgin?”

Xu Haoze blushed. He stammered for a long while without managing to say anything.

“Ah, what a pity.”

If his primordial yang energy was still intact, smearing his blood on the sword would double its destructive power against evil spirits and ghosts.

I got up, preparing to follow the paper crane, but my wrist was suddenly gripped tightly.

“I am.”

There was a trace of shyness on Xu Haoze’s face, but his eyes were very firm.

I didn’t quite process it.

“You’re what?”

“I’m still a virgin.”

So handsome, so rich, and still a virgin???

Now this was an unexpected delight!

Happily, I grabbed his hand, put his middle finger into my mouth, and bit down hard.

Xu Haoze’s whole body jolted. Then he stiffened and froze there, not moving an inch.

“What are you spacing out for? Hurry up and smear the blood on the sword. If you wait any longer, the wound will heal.”

“Oh, right!”

Watching Xu Haoze flail around in a panic, I got the feeling that this guy might not be too bright.
