Chapter 2
Chapter 2
The boy brought me to a second-floor room.
The room was large, facing the sun, with a desk, a wardrobe, and a bed, with two dolls on the headboard still with their tags on.
Uncle Xu’s big villa had a completely different room layout from my room in W Town, and the furniture style was different too.
This room had air conditioning.
The boy crossed his arms over his chest, leaning against the doorframe, quietly waiting for me to finish looking.
I walked a circle, carefully took off my schoolbag and placed it on the floor, then reached out to him.
“Hello, I’m Ruan He.”
“Xu Ge.”
The boy shook my hand very quickly, then stuffed his hands back into his pants pockets, lowered his eyelashes slightly, and looked at me with his dark eyes.
“Treat this place as your own from now on, don’t be reserved.”
On the day I came to the Xu Family, Uncle Xu had already transferred my school registration from W Town to S City No. 1 Middle School; from then on, I would attend school with Xu Ge.
At this time, there was still a month before school started at No. 1 Middle School.
It was still summer vacation.
Brother Zhang, Brother Wu, and a few others came every day to play games with Xu Ge.
Outside Xu Ge’s room, a lush sycamore tree grew; the cicadas buzzed loudly, and the scorching sunlight streamed through the gaps in the leaves into the window.
The central air conditioning indoors blew air, causing the pages of the book on the desk to rustle.
A group of fifteen- and sixteen-year-old teenagers sat on the carpet in Xu Ge’s room, playing Counter-Strike, TNT, and League of Legends.
I brought up the watermelon that Aunt Su had cut for them.
They wanted to pull me into the game.
“Little sister, play a round.”
“Big brother will carry you.”
I sat on the carpet, awkwardly laughing, “I don’t know how to play this.”
Back in W Town, after finishing my homework I would help my mother pick vegetables and press tofu, so I didn’t have time to learn these things.
“Big brother will teach you now.”
I shook my head: “You guys play, I’ll go back to my room and draw.”
Brother Wu acted like he’d discovered some huge deal: “You can draw too?”
I pursed my lips in embarrassment: “Not very well, I just learned sketching and stuff online.”
“Draw later, first play a game with big brother.”
“That’s enough.”
Xu Ge, who had been sitting on the carpet and just finished a game, suddenly spoke up, glancing at Brother Wu: “Don’t push her.”
“Oh please, I didn’t know you were such a sis-con, young master?”
Xu Ge’s eyelashes coldly lowered: “You’re nuts.”
I smiled and went back to my room.
I spread open a thick sketchbook on the desk.
This was one of the few things I had brought from W Town.
I drew the scenery outside my room’s window on paper.
Outside my room was the Xu Family’s back garden, where there was a large artificial lake, tended every day.
Sunlight shone on it, glistening and extremely beautiful.
Sitting by the window at this moment, I never would have imagined.
That in the future, I would masochistically fill this sketchbook with all the intimate moments between Xu Ge and that girl.

Looking Up at Spring Mountain
After starting high school, I was taken in by the Xu Family.
The Xu family had a golden boy, Xu Ge, whom I secretly admired for three whole years.
But in Xu Ge’s heart, there...
