Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Wangxin rose quickly, leaving me in a rather pathetic state.
Master gritted his teeth. “It seems my Disciple truly has succumbed to qi deviation. You can’t even tell people apart anymore.”
To save his own face, Master was actually willing to cover for me.
I was overjoyed and about to play along.
But Wangxin spoke up first. “She didn’t mistake me for anyone. I’m the one with qi deviation, and she sought that medicine for me.”
Little Buddhist Monk, you certainly have a way with words.
I turned around, planning to slip away. I had no desire to face this impending disaster.
However, Master immediately bound my body with a spell, leaving me unable to move.
“Come back with me.”
Wangxin lowered his eyes. “You could also come with me.”
As expected, the world outside offers so many more opportunities.
Now, I actually had two masters fighting over me. I’d have to tell everyone about this when I got back.
Master performed a quick spell and instantly dragged me to his side before flying off on his sword.
He left behind only one sentence: “Wangxin, you may practice the way of the Joyful Buddha, but don’t you dare reach your hands into my Sect.”
My hands and feet were still bound, but I looked up curiously. “Master, what is a Joyful Buddha?”
Master’s face twitched, and he used his hand to push my head back down.
Upon returning to the Hehuan Sect, Master hauled me to the back mountain.
I wiggled my body. “Master, the Binding Curse hasn’t been undone yet.”
Clad in green robes, Master’s gaze was cold. “Didn’t my Disciple say this afternoon that she missed me so much she suffered qi deviation?”
My eyes widened. What did he mean by that? To my ears, that could only be an invitation.
As expected of Master-this place was quite peaceful, and it was our own territory.
I hopped over, intending to throw myself into his arms.
Then, a cold voice rang out: “Do you still remember the rules of the Sect?”
“No internal consumption, no deceiving your Master, and no multitasking.”
They sounded reasonable, yet every single one was targeted at me.
Ever since I became the only female disciple of the Hehuan Sect, Master had established the first rule overnight.
A few days later, after I repeatedly tried to make a move on him, he added the rule against deceiving one’s Master.
After that, I hung around my martial brothers, and what I saw and heard was truly mind-blowing.
Later, Master established the third rule: no multitasking.
During that period, the disciples of the Hehuan Sect were breaking up every single moment for nearly a month.
“Master, your Disciple hasn’t violated the rules.”
I hadn’t indulged in internal consumption, I hadn’t deceived my Master, and I certainly wasn’t multitasking.
I had simply stopped being stubborn and became more flexible.
Master’s expression darkened further. “You lied to me this afternoon. That counts as deceiving your Master.”
After all that talk, Master, is this the little detail you’re hung up on?
I pointed toward the sky. “Master, if I said my heart and my body were separate entities, would you believe me?”
Master leaned down, his words freezing. “Then your body will have to accept the punishment on behalf of your heart.”
I watched helplessly as Master used the very same Huanhuan Powder I had once given him on me.
The most heinous punishment in the Hehuan Sect was none other than enduring the effects of Huanhuan Powder.
I gradually began to feel unwell and forced myself to look at Master. “Master, aren’t you leaving?”
You’re not planning to stay and watch, are you?
Master took a seat in the pavilion and sipped some tea. “I will stay here to ensure you don’t cheat.”
In the middle of the wilderness, how could I possibly cheat? If I could cheat, that would be a testament to my own skill.
I never had much willpower to begin with. Once the medicine took effect, my hearing and vision blurred, and I fell into a muddled stupor.
“Passing this trial will help you control your desires, allowing you to pick them up and let them go as you please.”
I grabbed the corner of his robe, clinging to the last of my consciousness. “Let them go… but I’ve never even gotten to let loose, Master.”
Huanhuan Powder lasted for two days. I wailed for two days before I finally walked out of the back mountain.
Everyone else assumed Master and I had spent two passionate days together. They came up to congratulate me and gossip about how the experience was.
My response was: “The experience was terrible. I won’t be ordering it again.”
Master was too cruel.
Since Wangxin, who practiced the way of the Joyful Buddha, didn’t work out, I’ll go try the Danqing Sect.
This time, I must give it my all and succeed in one go.
