Chapter 3
Mom wasn’t comfortable leaving me alone at the hotel, so she took me to the office building where the company she was visiting was located.
She and her coworkers had to go upstairs to discuss a business deal, and it wasn’t convenient to bring me with them.
After checking my kids’ smartwatch over and over, Mom reminded me, “If anything happens, call me. Don’t trust strangers so easily. If you need help, you can ask the lady at the front desk over there, okay?”
I nodded hard.
The moment Mom disappeared into the elevator, I immediately hopped off my seat and walked out of the building.
The bullet comments kept scrolling in front of my eyes:
[“Xiao Bao, see that black Rolls-Royce coming over? The man inside is your dad!”]
[“Aaaah, whatever, this plot is kind of different from what I imagined. Did the author revise it? Hurry up and let An’an meet the male lead!”]
[“Xiao Bao! In a second, you’re going to see a man overflowing with domineering alpha energy. No need to doubt it, that’s your dad. Run up and call him directly!”]

I looked toward another skyscraper not far away. A black car was slowly pulling up at the entrance.
When the car stopped, I saw two men get out.
The man in front had a handsome but icy face, striding over like a gust of wind.
The bullet comments said:
[“Kiddo! Aaaah, that’s him! Go grab his leg! That’s not just your real dad, that’s your rich second-gen life waiting for you!”]
I didn’t hesitate. Pumping my little legs as fast as I could, I charged forward and wrapped myself around that man’s leg in one lightning-fast move.
Then I tipped my head back and shouted, “Daddy!”
“Give me money!”
“I need to save Mom!”
Dads are supposed to raise their kids.
And kids are supposed to raise their moms.
Perfectly logical.
At that moment, silence fell all around us.
A moment later, a very rude voice sounded above my head. “Where’d this little chubby girl come from?”
Little chubby girl?
Me?
I jerked my head up toward the source of the voice. It was a man who seemed especially tall to me, looking down and meeting my eyes.
Just like Mom said, he was really good-looking.
But he did look kind of scary.
“I’m not fat.” Mom said I was just growing. I was soft and squishy and cute.
The other man beside him, an uncle in a gray suit, wiped at sweat that wasn’t really there. “CEO Qin, maybe one of the employees brought their child in today.”
Then he crouched down and looked at me, his tone gentler. “Sweetie, tell Uncle who your mom and dad are, okay? Uncle will take you to find them.”
I looked up at the person I was hugging again. “Uncle, my dad is right here.”
“Who?” He froze, then pointed at the man I was clinging to and asked hesitantly, “You mean our CEO Qin?”
I nodded hard.
He fell silent, then stood up and stammered to his boss, “CEO Qin, look, this…”
The man they called CEO Qin lowered his head to look at me and let out a cold snort.
“Little chubby girl, didn’t your family teach you not to talk nonsense? How come I didn’t know I had such a grown daughter?”
“I’m telling you now, aren’t I? Then you’ll know,” I said.
“…I don’t.”
“But you are my daddy!”
“Who says?” He crouched down to look at me. “Do you even know my name, going around claiming random fathers?”
“Of course I do. Your name is Qin Yan.” That’s what the big sisters in the bullet comments said.
He paused in surprise. “You know me?”
“You’re my daddy, so of course I know you.” I looked at him.
He stared at me for a long moment, then laughed. “Little chubby girl, who sent you over here to scam me?”
“My name isn’t Little Chubby Girl. You can call me An’an.”
“Fine, An’an. Uncle really doesn’t have time to play with you. Go with that uncle over there and contact your parents, okay?”
“No. Are you abandoning your daughter?” I stared at him. “Mom said you’re not that kind of person. Did you lie to my mom?”
A few uncles and aunties were standing nearby. They all looked like they worked for my dad, and there were gossip-loving expressions on their faces.
He looked so angry he laughed. “Fine. Then tell me who your mother is. I’d really like to see who I supposedly had a daughter this big with.”
“My mom’s name is Jiang Yuan,” I said.
