Chapter 3
Chapter 3
I led Yun Shen behind the laboratory bench.
This spot happened to be a blind spot for the surveillance.
Even if someone burst in, they wouldn’t be able to find us immediately.
“Senior Sister, what… what are you doing?”
Yun Shen sat on the floor, bracing himself with his hands as he scrambled backward.
“I save your life, you do me a favor.”
I leaned over and crawled toward him, whispering in his ear, “Do you agree?”
He was drenched in sweat, his thin lips pressed tightly together.
He was already losing his mind, tormented by the heat poison.
A hand suddenly landed on my waist.
With a sharp burst of strength, he pulled me down onto him.
I lay flat against his chest, looking up to meet his eyes, which were simmering with hidden fury.
“Senior Sister, if you dump me after we’re done, I will haunt you until the end of time.”
I thought about it; that shouldn’t be a problem.
I didn’t have any malicious intentions.
I just wanted to have a relationship where I could ascend to immortality as soon as we broke up.
Once I ascended as a High Immortal, if he could actually chase me all the way up there, then I’d accept my fate.
“I am serious about you, Junior Brother.”
Yun Shen gripped my wrist and lowered his head to kiss me.
Pressed against the back of the lab bench, I was caught off guard as he turned the tables on me.
Is it really going this smoothly?
Just as I closed my eyes to return the kiss, a voice suddenly rang out in the laboratory:
“Little Junior Sister, that work I assigned you… where did everyone go?”
Chen Heng was back.
He had strictly forbidden me from contacting my research subject before I finished my thesis proposal.
I snapped back to my senses instantly and pushed Yun Shen away.
In a barely audible whisper, I said, “Don’t move. Chen Heng is here.”
Yun Shen stared straight at me, brushing his thumb over the corner of his lip.
“The one who tried to seduce you before?”
“He’s my Eldest Senior Brother. He’s been looking after me ever since I joined the Joyful Union Sect.”
Yun Shen’s gaze shifted slightly as he pinched my chin.
His warm breath brushed against my ear.
“Senior Sister, what exactly does he teach you at the Joyful Union Sect?”
He teaches me how to write reports.
But now was not the time to explain that.
I held my index finger to my lips, making a shushing gesture.
If we just waited, Chen Heng would leave on his own, assuming I wasn’t here.
Yun Shen took hold of my finger, his eyes drooping slightly. “Senior Sister, has he ever taught you… this?”
Panicked, I covered his mouth.
The room fell into a heavy silence.
It wasn’t until I heard the sound of the door closing that my heart finally settled back into my chest.
Yun Shen pried my hand away and gazed at me quietly, pressing soft kisses onto my palm, one after another.
Staring at his actions, I was momentarily stunned, my heart rate gradually accelerating.
We’re both supposed to be on the Heartless Path-did he study some electives on the side?
“Senior Sister, do you actually know what you’re doing?”
I didn’t, but I couldn’t show weakness.
I took the initiative and pinned him down.
*Knock-knock.*
The sound of knuckles rapping on the tabletop came from right above us.
My body froze instantly.
Yun Shen tightened his grip on my waist. “Ignore it…”
I tilted my head back and looked up.
I came face-to-face with Chen Heng’s expressionless countenance.
“Little Junior Sister, hiding here and keeping quiet… are you conducting some practical fieldwork?”
