Chapter 2
Chapter 2
We returned to Zhanhuai Villa.
After He Xingxiao learned that Xie Nanxun was the person who had saved his life, his attitude toward her really did become different.
“Jingning, arrange a room for Miss Xie. Food, clothes, daily necessities. Give her the same as you.”
I was annoyed inside, but on the surface, I smiled brightly. “Got it.”
I hadn’t even had the chance to make trouble yet.
Xie Nanxun was the first to bring people over and dig up my vegetable garden, replacing it with flowers.
I stormed downstairs and saw the vegetables tossed aside. My heart ached.
Xie Nanxun smiled and said, “A mansion this high-end doesn’t look very elegant with vegetables planted in the yard. Look, aren’t these Mandrake Langalos roses beautiful?”
Xie Nanxun wore a little white dress and a floral kerchief over her hair.
Under the sunlight, her smile looked pure and lovely.
She picked a flower and tucked it by my temple.
“Good Jingning, don’t be mad. Stand in the flowers, and I’ll take some pretty pictures for you!”
But I liked growing vegetables. With soil this fertile, it was a waste not to plant vegetables.
Give an inch, and she’d take a mile.
I rolled up my sleeves and plucked the flowers while telling the servants, “Pick every last one of these flowers and turn them into flower pastries.”
Xie Nanxun grabbed my arm, her eyes reddening as she said anxiously, “Stop! Don’t touch my flowers!”
I shoved her away.
I didn’t even use that much force.
But she slammed headfirst into the rockery, and blood streamed down her forehead.
I froze in terror.
Xie Nanxun looked past me, fragile yet gentle.
“Mr. He, the flowers you didn’t get to see back then… I’ve planted them for you.”
“Please don’t blame Jingning. She didn’t push me on purpose. I just lost my footing.”
Her words were soft on the outside and barbed within. As a schemer myself, I could hear it perfectly.
I turned around.
He Xingxiao looked at the flower by my temple, dazed. “This flower really is beautiful.”
The two of them shared a memory all their own.
In my heart, I crawled through dark, twisted jealousy, hating Xie Nanxun with every fiber of my being.
He Xingxiao personally took Xie Nanxun to the hospital.
I sat in the living room, restless and uneasy.
When I heard the sound of the car, I hid behind the curtains and secretly observed.
Xie Nanxun had gauze wrapped around her head. When she got out of the car, she swayed dizzily and fell into He Xingxiao’s arms.
He Xingxiao told the driver to support her, then took a box and went inside first.
He handed the box to me.
“What’s this?”
“Flower pastries. Didn’t you want some?”
I opened the box and quietly ate the pastries.
“She’s fine. Don’t feel guilty.”
“I… I’m not!”
He Xingxiao owned many properties in Jing City.
Moving out of Zhanhuai Villa would be a good way to change the plot.
“Brother Xingxiao, can we move? That large flat downtown is pretty nice.”
“We can stay there occasionally, but moving is out of the question.”
This was the former residence of He Xingxiao’s deceased mother.
To him, this was the only place that counted as “home.”
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Xie Nanxun walk in.
I cupped He Xingxiao’s face and kissed him on the lips, kissing him until a strand of saliva stretched between us.
“Brother Xingxiao, carry me upstairs. I want you.”
He Xingxiao’s breathing grew ragged. Holding me the way one would hold a child, he lifted me with one arm and hurried upstairs.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and shot Xie Nanxun a dark glare.
She wanted to steal away my money tree.
Absolutely not!

Vicious Canary Relies on Bullet Comment Spoilers to Turn the Tables
I was He Xingxiao’s kept canary. In bed, I slacked off with a terrible attitude.
After a while, I’d start whining that it hurt, that I was tired.
But when it came to...
