Chapter 1

He Xingxiao insisted I dress up as a bunny girl and fool around with him in broad daylight.

He wanted me to do this and that, then that and this.

Honestly, no job in the world isn’t annoying.

I lay sprawled on top of him and whined, “My back aches, my legs hurt, and I’m so tired I don’t even want to move a finger.”

He Xingxiao dug his fingers hard into the dip of my waist.

He loved leaving finger marks, hickeys, and bite marks all over me.

“When you were shopping, you moved faster than I did. Didn’t hear you saying you were tired then.”

He gave up expecting anything from me.

Then he flipped us over, switching our positions.

The movement grew louder and rougher.

Once he was satisfied, He Xingxiao got up and started getting dressed.

Seeing that he was in a good mood, I crawled over, hugged his waist from behind, and pressed my face clingily against his back. “Brother Xingxiao, I like this bag. Buy it for me, please?”

I sneakily held out my phone.

He Xingxiao cleared out my entire shopping cart on the spot.

I stared at the twenty-six items now waiting to be delivered, then kissed his cheek. “You’re the best boss in the world. Thanks!”

I didn’t know what I had said wrong.

The smile at the corners of his mouth vanished, and the air around him turned cold.

I looked at him nervously.

“Come with me to the celebration banquet tonight.”

“Oh. Okay.”

He Xingxiao’s expression eased a little, so I pushed my luck, leaned in again, and shared a long, lingering kiss with him.

A row of floating comments suddenly appeared before my eyes:

[The vicious supporting female character’s good days are about to end. The adored, universally beloved heroine is about to meet the male lead.]

[She’ll frame the heroine in every possible way and gradually be despised by the male lead.]

[The male lead hasn’t even dumped her yet, but she’ll run off with a fake rich heir after taking his money. In the end, the fake rich heir will steal all her savings, have her kidney removed, and she’ll die miserably in a rental room.]

[She deserves it! Only a kind, non-materialistic good girl like the heroine is worthy of a big shot’s love!]

“Why are you shivering? Are you cold?”

I hugged He Xingxiao tighter and said, “Mm. Hold me.”

He Xingxiao held me.

I stared at the floating comments, my mind in chaos.

With my arm linked through He Xingxiao’s, I walked into the celebration banquet.

I saw a graceful, swaying figure from behind.

Everyone’s eyes were fixed on her.

“Jiang Jingning is already pretty outstanding.”

“But compared with Xie Nanxun, she falls short by quite a bit.”

“I’ve never seen such a devastatingly beautiful woman in a qipao.”

Everyone praised her.

And I had become the contrast used to highlight her beauty.

I gave a cold snort, displeased.

The woman turned around. The moment I saw her face, floating comments appeared before my eyes again:

[The male and female leads are about to drink the spiked red wine, then spend one absurd night together.]

[From then on, the male lead will be hooked on the heroine and never touch the vicious supporting female character again.]

So this Xie Nanxun was the heroine, He Xingxiao’s official match.

I could not lose this job with a monthly salary of three hundred thousand, plus a sugar daddy who occasionally showered me with extra cash.

I had to change the plot.

Xie Nanxun walked over to He Xingxiao with poise and grace, then picked up a glass of red wine from a server’s tray.

“Mr. He, hello.”

“I’m the director of Rose’s Fall. My name is Xie Nanxun.”

“Thank you very much for investing in my film. I’d like to toast you.”

Those two glasses of wine were the problem.

I absolutely could not let them drink.

“I’ll drink for him.”

I picked up the other glass of wine.

Then I pretended to step on the hem of my dress, threw myself toward Xie Nanxun, and knocked over the wine in her hand.

Both glasses smashed to the floor at the same time.

Good. Mission complete.

I had no idea how Xie Nanxun somehow lost her balance too.

She looked frail, but she was surprisingly strong.

She dragged me down with her, and her hand was about to land on the glass shards.

At the very last second, I shoved her away with all my strength.

My left hand pressed into the broken glass. A cut split open, and blood poured out.

Every expression and movement of mine had been carefully designed. I cried beautifully, looking pitiful and helpless.

“Xie Nanxun… I have no grudge against you. Why did you push me into the glass?”

Xie Nanxun had no way to defend herself. Like a frightened rabbit, she hurriedly explained, “It wasn’t me… You fell on it on purpose!”

I lifted my head at the most flattering angle and looked toward He Xingxiao.

He Xingxiao was staring at me with an especially cold gaze.

He was angry. Angrier than I had ever seen him.

My heart faltered.

Could it be that after just one meeting, he already had eyes only for the female lead?

I showed him my bleeding hand.

“Brother Xingxiao… it hurts.”

He Xingxiao bent down and swept me into his arms.

Xie Nanxun grabbed his sleeve.

He Xingxiao did not stop.

Her hand closed on empty air.

“Mr. He, you saw that she did it on purpose, didn’t you?”

He Xingxiao ignored her and strode into the lounge.

I flashed her a smug smile.

Xie Nanxun stood there, dazed and lost.

A doctor came in carrying a medical kit and treated my wound.

He Xingxiao had spent years in a position of power and rarely lost his temper.

But once he did, someone was bound to lose a layer of skin. He could be terrifyingly ruthless.

“Your allowance for next month is gone.”

That was three hundred thousand… My world collapsed.

“Why?”

“So you learn your lesson.”

“If you didn’t want me drinking with her, you could have told me directly. There was no need to hurt yourself.”

He was the victor of his family’s internal struggle, a ruthless man who had carved his way out through blood. Of course my little trick could not fool him.

But if Xie Nanxun had drunk that wine, then under the influence of the plot, the two of them would probably still end up accidentally sleeping together.

Injuring my left hand and ruining their first night together?

Worth it.

My throat was practically smoking, but I kept wheedling as hard as I could. “Brother Xingxiao… Then can I have two hundred thousand instead?”

He Xingxiao could not be bothered with me and left.

I followed right behind him. I absolutely could not let him have another chance to interact with the female lead.

But I had underestimated the power of the plot.

The red wine had been tampered with by Shao Dongchen, the Underworld Crown Prince.

He was the yandere second male lead of this book, the one who wanted to force his love on the female lead.

At the celebration banquet, Shao Dongchen threatened Xie Nanxun and demanded that she be with him.

Xie Nanxun had a fierce temper. She smashed a bottle of red wine over Shao Dongchen’s head.

Then she rushed up to He Xingxiao and took out an antique pocket watch. “Mr. He, do you still remember? Seven years ago, when you were gravely injured, I was the one who saved you.”

“You left me this pocket watch and said that one day, I could ask you for one thing.”

“Mr. He, I want to stay at Zhanhuai Villa!”

I was just about to stop her.

He Xingxiao said, “All right.”

With those words, he had made his stance public. He intended to protect her.

Shao Dongchen chased after them with a hand pressed to his head, his eyes full of resentment. But even he could not touch someone He Xingxiao had decided to shelter.

New spoilers appeared in the bullet comments:

[After the female lead moves into Zhanhuai Villa, the vicious supporting female character uses every trick she has to harm her, only for the female lead to cleverly resolve them all.]

[As He Xingxiao spends more time with Xie Nanxun, he falls for her step by step.]

I clenched my fist without thinking, and blood seeped through the gauze.

Then we would… take our time fighting.

I was He Xingxiao’s kept canary. In bed, I slacked off with a terrible attitude.

After a while, I’d start whining that it hurt, that I was tired.

But when it came to...
