I carried Li Yuwei on my back to the school infirmary, sweating from the effort.
The school nurse gave her a glucose drip, and she woke up soon after, not saying a word, tears streaming down her face.
I said “hey” and took a tissue to wipe her face.
She suddenly cried out a snot bubble.
I pulled another tissue and wiped the snot bubble away.
Li Yuwei stopped crying, looking at me with a pout like a little duck.
“Xu Jiajia, am I really annoying?” Li Yuwei said.
I thought about it seriously and told the truth.
“No, I think you’re pretty cute, straightforward, and quite loyal.”
Li Yuwei’s pout eased up. She said, aggrieved, “Then why doesn’t Lin Xiyan like me?”
“Maybe because he prefers bad girls.”
