Xie Yunlan had actually become my husband’s concubine!

I stood there, utterly disheveled in the wind, unable to sort out this relationship for the longest time.

Back when I was fighting in the northwest, I was constantly getting injured, lonely and miserable.

So I often went to a cool, aloof female medic who ran a clinic to have my wounds treated.

After going back and forth often enough, I developed inexplicable feelings for her.

Then one time, after I got drunk, I discovered the medic gently stroking my brows and eyes.

So I gritted my teeth and kissed her!

And when the two of us tumbled into bed…

I discovered he was a man!

He discovered I was a woman!

The genders were wrong, but the feelings were right.

Just like that, Xie Yunlan and I got tangled up together and became a pair of shameless adulterers.

I didn’t hide it from him, either. Back home, I had a childhood-sweetheart husband.

The two of us had grown up together since we were little, and we loved each other deeply.

After the war ended, I endured the pain in my heart and parted ways with him.

Xie Yunlan held me and said softly, “I don’t mind that you’ve been married. Once you two divorce, we can still be together.”

Even in matters of love, there had to be a first come, first served order, right?

He was the latecomer, yet he wanted to kick out my proper husband.

That was far too unprincipled!

I might be a little fickle, but I still knew what mattered more.

I had merely made a mistake that every woman in the world would make.

It wasn’t as if I would keep making that mistake forever.

Peace in the household was most important. How could I abandon my husband for some wild man?

I rejected Xie Yunlan with firm finality.

“My husband and I share a love stronger than gold! Yunlan, for all these years, just think of it as having given your heart to the wrong person!”

Xie Yunlan let out a cold laugh. “Is that so? A love stronger than gold? I’d like to see whether there really is a man in this world who treats wealth and power like dirt! One day, you’ll understand that you chose wrong!”

I thought with absolute confidence, how could I possibly have chosen wrong?

My husband was so tender and affectionate toward me. Without me, he wouldn’t be able to go on living.

But today’s little scene had slapped me so hard my face was practically swollen.

I looked at my husband and Xie Yunlan standing shoulder to shoulder.

My expression was full of sorrow, but inside, I was blooming with joy.

Heh heh. You two go ahead and be together! Perfect timing-I don’t want either of you anymore!
