The people hiding in the wardrobe, under the bed, and up in the rafters all revealed themselves.

If Xiao Quan had seen them, he would have recognized them at once.

They were the three factions that had recently pledged allegiance to him.

The one in the wardrobe was Chen Yu, Heir of Prince Chen.

The one under the bed was Marquis Cui Yao of Minzhong.

The one on the rafter was Li Shan, Commander of the Southwestern Army.

Straightforward by nature, Li Shan looked at me and asked, “Why did you kiss him?”

The moment he said that, the other two turned to look at me and echoed, “You kissed him?”

I looked at Chen Yu. “Of all the places you could hide, you chose the wardrobe? Are you an idiot?”

Chen Yu coughed. “I’m frail. The wardrobe saved me two steps.”

“Enough. Let us continue discussing the matter at hand.”

Cui Yao looked utterly exasperated. “Are we going to discuss the matter at hand or not?”

The matter we were conspiring over was how to kill Xiao Quan and take over his forces.

I disagreed. “He’s the male lead. He’s unnaturally gifted. He won’t die.”

Li Shan said, “Then why don’t you pick one of us and cuckold him to death?”

I rolled my eyes at him. “Are you trying to kill him with rage, or ruin me?”

Cui Yao pondered for a long while, his fingertips tapping lightly on the table. “Have you tried doing it yourself?”

That, I really had not tried.

Cui Yao fixed his gaze on me. “Perhaps that is the way to break it.”
