Sister Bai threw down the walkie-talkie in a huff.

“Isn’t this just cheating? Twenty centimeters is bigger than a hand. How can such a tiny mushroom grow that large?”

Wang Qiang comforted her, “It’s fine, Sister. We’ll just follow this path further in; we’re bound to find a big one. We have Master Chen with us. When the time comes, we’ll just have him pull out the Luopan to give us a direction. We’re definitely winning this round!”

Everyone laughed, looking relaxed. Our group, however, wasn’t having such an easy time.

We hadn’t even left the campsite yet, and the other team had already found a Nine Demon Mushroom. Lin Xin pulled out his phone to check the Bullet Comments, and his expression instantly soured.

“They found a path covered in Nine Demon Mushrooms! We need to catch up, stop dragging your feet!”

The others quickened their pace, chasing after the direction Chen Zhen and his team had gone. Once we entered the forest, the dense canopy overhead blotted out the sky. The sunlight was filtered through the leaves into thin, fragmented rays, and in such an environment, one quickly lost all sense of direction.

“Hey, Qiao Moyu, use your Luopan to see which way they went.”

Everyone looked at me expectantly. I nodded and pulled the Luopan out of my bag. I took one glance and immediately felt that something was wrong.

The needle of the Luopan was spinning irregularly in circles. There was a magnetic field in this place interfering with the needle.

I cleared my throat and tucked the Luopan away.

“No need for the Luopan. I have a better way.”

With that, I focused my energy, tilted my head back, and let out a massive shout: “Chen Zhen-where are you guys-”

The group: “…”

Bullet Comments: “Hahaha, is she here for comic relief? I’m dying.”

“And she calls herself a master? She can’t even read a Luopan. How embarrassing!”

“What did Liu Xiong see in her anyway?”

A moment later, Chen Zhen’s response drifted back from the southwest: “Sect Master-I’m over here-”

I nodded. “That way. Let’s go.”

Everyone followed me, but the atmosphere was silent the whole way. Zhao Sisi tried to tell a few jokes, but no one paid her any mind. Lin Xin kept a stony face the entire time, while Zhou Xue was even more blatant with her sarcasm.

“Qiao Moyu, it’s fine if you don’t actually know what you’re doing. The scariest thing is someone who pretends to know and gives blind directions. Just keep your mouth shut later. If we lose, we won’t blame you.”

I ignored her. Soon, we reached the small path Chen Zhen’s team had taken.

Seeing the dense clusters of Nine Demon Mushrooms before them, everyone let out a gasp of surprise.

Zhou Xue said, “This is it. If we follow this further in, we’ll definitely find a big one.”

Lin Xin added, “Then what are we waiting for? Move fast! Don’t let Sister Bai and the others beat us to it.”

I walked over, crouched down, and with a trembling hand, plucked a Nine Demon Mushroom. The tiny, snow-white mushroom fell into my palm, bringing with it a piercing, bone-chilling cold.

My expression changed instantly.
