Chapter 2
Chapter 2
A year ago, I discovered that this was actually the world of a book.
My younger sister, Tang Xiawen, was the kindhearted heroine.
And I was her vicious older sister, jealous of her.
My character setting went like this: before the age of seven, I had been a brilliant young piano prodigy, the center of everyone’s attention.
At seven, I was abducted into the mountains and disappeared without a trace.
After finally making it home, my personality had become extreme and gloomy. I was jealous of the heroine, Tang Xiawen. Not only did I secretly frame her, I also interfered in her relationship with the male lead, Xu Heyi.
Unfortunately, Xu Heyi was devoted and deeply in love. He completely ignored Tang Xuesheng.
Tang Xuesheng loved him but could never have him. In the end, she turned completely evil and met a tragic end.
A handful of lines summed up an entire life.
But the truth was this-
After I was abducted, my parents did try hard to find me at first.
But once, because they were busy with matters related to me, they failed to notice Tang Xiawen running a high fever.
They almost lost their other daughter too.
After that, my parents decided to cherish what they still had, pouring all their energy into their second daughter.
As for finding me, they stopped being quite so proactive.
Tang Xiawen was naturally gifted. She soon replaced me and became the new young piano prodigy.
Gradually, no one mentioned the name Tang Xuesheng anymore.
Everyone simply assumed I was dead.
Because my family wasn’t actively cooperating, it took the police seven years to find me.
I had done heavy labor in the mountains, and my wrists were permanently damaged. I could never play the piano again.
All I could do was watch Tang Xiawen perform.
My parents felt guilty toward me, so they were very polite, treating me like an honored guest.
They claimed they treated us equally, but in private, they would say, “Wenwen really is the considerate one.”
“Of course. Wenwen is the one we raised with our own hands. How could it be the same?”
In contrast, Tang Xiawen’s character setting was this:
Smart and kind, she had always blamed herself for her older sister’s abduction. It was not until she met the male lead, Xu Heyi, that he healed her, and she decided to forgive herself.
Oh, forgive herself.
How hard that must have been.
Looking back, Tang Xiawen really was kind.
When our classmates mocked me, she stepped forward like some saint.
“Don’t bully my sister. She suffered trauma in the past.”
When our classmates asked what kind of trauma, she became mysterious. “I can’t say.”
Then, before long, the entire school knew I had been abducted and trafficked.
She basked in all the praise and admiration.
Meanwhile, I was subjected to even more vicious insults.
“What did Tang Xuesheng ever do to deserve a sister as good as Goddess Wen?”
“Goddess Wen can play the piano. What can she do? How can twins be so different?”
“Wenwen has blamed herself for so many years, and Shengsheng still won’t forgive her. Isn’t that a little petty?”
Do you get it now?
I was nothing but a plot device, used to make the heroine shine.
After Xu Heyi appeared, it only got worse.
He was a cold person to begin with. To protect Tang Xiawen, he was utterly ruthless toward me.
Even my miserable death in the wilderness at the end-where my body had started to stink before anyone found it-had his handiwork behind it.
After reading the entire novel, I made a decision.
I wasn’t going to just take it anymore.
I would turn evil ahead of schedule and overturn the whole game.
If I was meant to be vicious, then I would be vicious to the very end.
