Chapter 5
I was still wondering where this little pest had come from when he rushed over in a panic and helped Nanny Sun up.
Then he pointed at my nose, furious beyond words, and cursed me out.
“You shameless woman! If anything happens to my mother, I will divorce you, and I will make you pay!”
“You should be thrown in prison, drowned in a pond, and die a miserable death!”
Oh.
Perfect timing.
That confirmed his identity too.
What lucky day was this?
I had barely gotten out of bed, and already I was reaping a bumper harvest?
I picked at my ear.
“What are you yelling for? I hit her, not you, right?”
I gave a whistle.
Two burly men in black leaped down from the eaves.
These were hidden guards I had paid a fortune for on the black market.
I had specifically chosen the two with the heaviest hands.
In a calm voice, I pointed at Qin Jisheng and gave the order.
“Slap him.”
“If his face gets ruined, that’s on me.”
As expected of hidden guards I had paid double for.
They charged straight over, pinned Qin Jisheng down, and started slapping him left and right.
At once, the room filled with a delightful crackling sound.
At first, he still tried to struggle and curse at me.
In the end, he was slapped until he couldn’t get half a word out.
Only when his face was about eighty percent of the way to resembling a pig’s head did I raise my hand and call a stop.
Then I strolled over unhurriedly and crouched down in front of him.
“Welcome home. This is your greeting gift.”
“Do you like it?”
“If you do, you should say thank you. Otherwise, I can only give you a little more.”
The arrogance in Qin Jisheng’s eyes was gone.
He looked at me in terror, then at the hidden guards behind me.
The word “thanks” rolled around in his mouth several times.
Just as he was about to say it, he seemed to suddenly spot something.
His eyes lit up, and confidence immediately returned to him.
I followed his gaze-
It was Madam Qin.
At some point, she had appeared in the doorway.
Her expression was cold as she watched everything unfold.
Having found his backer, Qin Jisheng shouted at Madam Qin, “Why aren’t you coming over to drag this madwoman away? Are you just going to watch her beat me and Mother to death?”
“And hurry up and call a physician to treat Mother. If this leaves her with any lingering illness, I will hate you for the rest of my life!”
His tone was venomous.
It didn’t sound like he was speaking to his own birth mother.
More like an enemy.
I was so angry I laughed.
“Still haven’t beaten the obedience into you, have I?”
“Men, keep slapping him.”
“Wait.” Madam Qin slowly raised a hand.
Her face was pale as she walked over to Qin Jisheng.
“Sheng’er, what did you just call her?”
Qin Jisheng, spoiled by favoritism and confident he had nothing to fear, was deliberately trying to provoke Madam Qin.
With that pig-headed face of his, he said firmly, “Mother.”
“Whoever raised me from childhood is naturally my mother.”
Nanny Sun was moved beyond words.
She hugged this good son tightly.
Yet she still insisted on saying,
“Sheng’er, don’t say that. Madam Qin is your birth mother. Someone of my lowly background-how could I be worthy of being your mother?”
“Good Sheng’er, hurry and apologize to your mother. I’ll bear all the blame myself.”
I watched from the side, utterly speechless.
So I simply exposed her act.
“If you really want Qin Jisheng to apologize, then let go of him first.”
“You’re hugging him so tightly while telling him to hurry over. Which one of you is actually insane?”
“Or is Qin Jisheng just like the Qin family’s wealth to you? You say you don’t want it, but in reality, you’ll use any means necessary to keep it by your side?”
