Chapter 170
Chapter 170
The Sakura Region.
Within its super main city, Amaterasu City.
In a secluded corner outside the imperial palace, the group from the Eastern Region discussed how to obtain the Yasakani no Magatama.
It was a frustrating process.
Fortunately, after several long minutes of thought, inspiration struck Zhou Ming and he came up with an idea. The hardship had finally paid off.
“You have that many devious tricks up your sleeve?” Yun Wuyou gave Zhou Ming a strange look.
He had never met anyone so good at making things happen.
Come to think of it, Zhouyou Shijie was bold yet meticulous, silver-tongued, and always calm in a crisis. Perhaps he had the makings of an excellent thief.
“It’s not some devious trick!”
Zhou Ming shook his head with a laugh. “Time is short. We’ll make our move tonight!”
“What’s the exact plan?”
“First, we’ll do this, and then we’ll do that…”
Zhou Ming patiently assigned everyone’s tasks, making sure nothing was overlooked, then discussed any possible flaws with the group.
…
Time passed slowly, and night arrived in the blink of an eye.
By the time midnight approached, Amaterasu City was dark and silent.
Since the main body of adventurers had yet to arrive, the streets were deserted. The heavily guarded imperial palace felt even more oppressive, without a single sound to be heard.
“Let’s go!”
Yun Wuyou moved like the wind, easily carrying Zhou Ming over the wall and into the imperial palace.
“We should use stealth, just in case!” Yun Wuyou placed a hand on Zhou Ming’s shoulder and transferred a portion of his power.
Ding!
[System Notification: You have received a gift from Vanishing Swift Shadow · Yun Wuyou and obtained the one-use temporary skill [Windshadow Stealth] (Rare S-Rank)!]
[Windshadow Stealth] (Rare S-Rank)
Description: This is no ordinary stealth.

[Stealth]: Makes your body transparent and blends it into the surrounding environment. The farther you are from the target unit, the harder you are to detect. The exact effect depends on the difference in level and strength between both parties.
…
This gift did not require Zhou Ming to pay any price.
Zhou Ming activated Windshadow Stealth and followed behind Yun Wuyou as the two quietly slipped deeper into the imperial palace.
“It’s been a long time since I pulled off a big job.” Yun Wuyou looked excited. “Why don’t we visit the Sakura Region’s treasury first and see whether the Yasakani no Magatama is inside?”
“All right!”
Zhou Ming nodded.
At this point, the Light Faction had completely turned against him. The so-called gods were simply a collection of god-tier powerhouses, and the Sakura Region’s emperor was one of them.
He had no reason to hold back against enemies who wanted him dead.
About five minutes later, with Yun Wuyou’s help, Zhou Ming slipped past guards over Level 100 and arrived at a brightly lit secret warehouse guarded by more than a dozen powerhouses.
The warehouse was extremely well hidden, but even that could not withstand Yun Wuyou’s exceptional scouting abilities.
“The Sakura Region’s treasury ought to have a few treasures, right?” Yun Wuyou hunched low and observed the guards.
Zhou Ming asked, “How do we get inside?”
“Easy. Watch closely!”
Yun Wuyou crept forward without making a sound.
Before anyone noticed him, he seized the instant when the last guard entered everyone else’s blind spot, knocked the target unconscious, and concealed the body.
Ding!
[System Notification: Vanishing Swift Shadow · Yun Wuyou has used [Super Sap]. Based on the difference in strength between both parties, [Treasury Guard · Ito Yama] has fallen Unconscious for 10 minutes!]
Ding!
[System Notification: Vanishing Swift Shadow · Yun Wuyou has used [Perfect Impersonation], disguising himself as the target unit for 2 minutes!]
Swish, swish, swish!
In the blink of an eye, Yun Wuyou transformed into his opponent’s likeness, while the original had been hidden somewhere unknown.
“Ow!”
Yun Wuyou suddenly clutched his stomach, drawing everyone’s attention. “My stomach hurts. I’ll be right back!”
With that, he walked off on his own, successfully reducing the treasury’s manpower.
After placing the unconscious guard in a corner, Yun Wuyou returned and repeated the same trick.
Zhou Ming saw it clearly. Yun Wuyou was not simply knocking out guards at random. By eliminating only two of them, he created a blind spot in the treasury’s tight security that they could pass through.
“Go!”
Yun Wuyou signaled for Zhou Ming to follow and accelerated without warning. Zhou Ming hurriedly activated Shadowless Step and raced to the treasury doors. Under Stealth, they passed completely unnoticed by the guards.
As expected!
Having a veteran lead the way made everything easy!
After carefully examining the massive, intricate lock, Yun Wuyou’s expression grew solemn.
“This lock is anything but simple. The instant I open it, we’ll definitely be discovered!” Yun Wuyou transmitted privately to Zhou Ming. “Once we’re inside, we’ll make a quick circuit and confirm whether the Yasakani no Magatama is there. It’d be best not to touch anything else… Uh, take one item at most. Whatever you do, don’t get greedy, or you’ll stumble!”
Zhou Ming understood and gave him an okay gesture.
At the end of the day, it would be absurd if someone could casually break into a national region’s treasury and steal whatever they pleased.
Even a god-tier powerhouse could not run wild without consequence.
One minute… Two minutes…
Time passed quickly.
When Shadowless Step finally came off cooldown, Zhou Ming signaled for the remarkably skilled old man to continue.
“Get ready!”
Yun Wuyou took a deep breath. A sharp light flashed through his eyes as he activated a forbidden art and forcibly unlocked the door.
Ding!
[System Notification: Vanishing Swift Shadow · Yun Wuyou has used the exclusive skill [Forbidden · Windshadow Shatter], unconditionally eliminating the toughness bar of all objects for 5 minutes!]
Boom!!
Azure light erupted.
Wind-element energy condensed and slammed into the lock, instantly emptying its toughness bar.
“Open!!”
Yun Wuyou barked the command.
Click!
Before the stunned guards, the massive lock fell to the ground and the doors slowly swung open.
Baptism by Fire, Soul Plunder, Warlord, Shadowless Step…
The two pushed their speed to the limit and charged through the doors. Priceless items filled their vision, along with a mountain of gold coins on an unimaginable scale.
Treasures everywhere!
They did not dare hesitate. One went left and the other right as they swept through the treasury.
Zhou Ming rapidly cast Inspect on item after item. He overlooked nothing that bore even the slightest resemblance to a “magatama.”
“Intru-der!!”
Only then did the guards outside recover. They immediately shouted at the top of their lungs, alerting the surrounding guards.
[Azure Edge Crystal] (Rare S-Rank)
[Skyvault Jade] (SS-Rank)
[Moonstone] (S-Rank)
…
Some items were incredibly tempting, but time was short, and Zhou Ming refused to lose sight of the greater prize for some minor gain.
“Damn it, it’s Zhouyou Shijie!”
“Damn Easterners! Sooner or later, under His Majesty’s wise leadership, we’ll occupy your fertile lands!”
At that moment, a large number of guards poured into the treasury to stop them. Yun Wuyou summoned a gale and blasted them straight back out.
With no time to pay attention to the Sakura Region guards’ taunts, Zhou Ming hurriedly searched for his objective.
“The coordinates are close!”
Zhou Ming’s gaze swept the area as he cast Inspect again and again. The target was clear. “The Yasakani no Magatama isn’t far from the treasury!”
Just as he neared the end of his half-circle and was about to meet Yun Wuyou, a precious treasure suddenly appeared in Zhou Ming’s view.
“So this is the treasure hidden in the Sakura Region’s treasury!”
Zhou Ming’s eyes lit up. He made his decision at once and placed the item into his inventory.
…
