Two successive showers of golden light descended, raising Zhou Ming to Level 18.
At the same time, golden light also flared around Tingfeng Xiyu.
He had dealt practically no damage during the boss fight, but his control skills had still contributed. Combined with the extra rewards from the enormous level gap, it was only natural that he gained a level too.
“We… we actually got the first Silver kill that easily?” Tingfeng Xiyu wondered if he was dreaming.
“It was only a Silver boss. How could it possibly withstand the combined might of two experts like us?” Zhou Ming said with a laugh, bending down to collect everything the boss had dropped.
Tingfeng Xiyu scratched his head, almost embarrassed.
Who knew that top players these days were not only skilled, but so good at making people feel appreciated too?
A few seconds later, the system chime announcing the first kill finally rang out.

Delight spread across Zhou Ming’s face.
Under the game’s normal progression, the first Silver boss kill would have been nowhere near this easy to claim. Most players were still crawling around Novice Villages in diapers.
The only reason he could be so far ahead was the pile of Gold equipment he was wearing, gear that had no business existing at this stage of the game.
“Thanks for the help, man!”
Tingfeng Xiyu turned to leave. “If you don’t need anything else, I’ll be on my way!”
“Wait!” Zhou Ming quickly called after him.
“Hm?”
Tingfeng Xiyu looked back in confusion. “Was there something else, boss?”
“You helped me secure the first Silver boss kill. Sending you away without a reward wouldn’t sit right with me.”
Zhou Ming took a dagger from his inventory.

Perhaps because of its higher level requirement, the Fang Dagger’s Attack was astonishing. It offered nearly twice as much as the Silver weapon Zhou Ming currently held!
But Zhou Ming had no need for it anymore.
When collecting the loot, he had already spotted a Silver longsword among the boss’s drops!
“Damn!” Tingfeng Xiyu sucked in a sharp breath. “You’re really giving me something this valuable?”
“You earned it.”
Zhou Ming showed no reluctance whatsoever.
This player possessed a hidden class and had repeatedly escaped the Blackwind Panther King’s pursuit at Level 10. He was clearly no ordinary person.
Using this chance to build some goodwill with him was more than worth the price.
“Ding!”

“Accept the request, man,” Tingfeng Xiyu said seriously, making no move to refuse the dagger. “And send me the payment account you’ve linked to *Destiny*.”
Zhou Ming accepted the friend request, then shook his head. “Forget the money.”
“Absolutely not!”
Tingfeng Xiyu spoke with righteous conviction. “I live by one rule. If someone treats me badly, I’ll take advantage of them without losing a wink of sleep. But if someone treats me well, I refuse to take advantage of them.”
This was only his first meeting with Zhouyou Shijie. He had carelessly drawn the boss’s pursuit, and the other man had stepped in to save him. Even during the fight, Tingfeng Xiyu had not contributed much. He could not shake the feeling that Zhouyou Shijie would have managed just fine without him.
Under those circumstances, if Tingfeng Xiyu took the weapon for free, even he would look down on himself.

Zhou Ming stopped refusing and sent over his account details. A transfer of 2,000 yuan arrived soon afterward.

Tingfeng Xiyu ultimately left with the dagger, positively beaming.
After watching him go, Zhou Ming reopened his inventory and drew out a sharp sword gleaming with a cold light. Anticipation surged within him.
Under Qianying’s power, ordinary equipment had become Silver, while Bronze equipment had become Gold. If he enhanced a Silver weapon, wouldn’t it become…?
The thought made him impatient. He immediately touched the God-Demon Orb to the sword’s blade.

The instant the two objects met, Qianying understood his intention. She guided mysterious energy out of the God-Demon Orb and wrapped it around the weapon. Its edge grew increasingly sharp as the blade trembled and rang with a crisp hum.
“Will it become Gold, or… Radiant?”
Zhou Ming swallowed hard, hardly daring to breathe.
A little over ten seconds later, the sword had completely transformed. Its blade was long and slender, as thin as a cicada’s wing, with wisps of dim radiance flowing across its surface. One glance was enough to tell that it was anything but ordinary.

Zhou Ming could barely put down the weapon that he needed only two more levels to equip.
Who could have imagined that a Radiant weapon would fall into a player’s hands on the game’s second day?
The more Zhou Ming experienced Qianying’s power, the better he understood why all those god-tier experts had thrown caution aside and attacked her together.
“Qianying, you’re absolutely monstrous!” he exclaimed from the bottom of his heart.
Qianying had no response.
After that, Zhou Ming decided to keep grinding Demonized Black Panthers.
Plans never survived contact with reality.
Searching for another leveling spot would waste time. He might as well remain here until he met the equipment requirements, then move straight to a much more difficult area.
As he resumed hunting, he opened his inventory and inspected his other spoils.
Unfortunately, the Blackwind Panther King had been rather stingy. It had dropped only one Silver weapon. Aside from that, there was merely the Bronze dagger and a handful of silver coins.
Of course, none of that mattered.
What mattered was that the system had already delivered his reward for the first Silver boss kill.

Then he remembered that he still had several server-wide announcements awaiting his decision, so he simply released them all together.

“Fuck!”
Inside a Novice Village, a hot-tempered player erupted in curses. “Does your family own this game or something? You’re on the server announcements every damn day! Go on, do it one more time if you’ve got the guts!”
