After Qin Duo listened to my brief summary of my friends’ love story, he let out a soft laugh. “Sounds like they still like each other.”

Who knew?

After all, when they fought, one of them had said, “I could fall for anyone in this lifetime, but I will never fall for him again,” while the other had said, “If I ever like her again, I’m a dog.”

After dinner, Qin Duo offered to drive me home.

Once again, I felt the humanistic care of my superior.

He was a good person.

Normally, with my old chatterbox tendencies, I would have shared this in our little group chat of three.

But things really weren’t suitable lately, so I didn’t tell either Song Yao or Xu Jingnian about it.

I just treated it as an ordinary little thing.

In the second week after Song Yao and Xu Jingnian broke up, I went over to give the place they used to share a thorough cleaning.

The two of them were still in a state of never wanting to see each other again.

The good news was, they no longer asked me whose side I was on.

In the pantry, my coworkers were discussing our boss’s recent fashion style.

“Why has President Qin started wearing glasses lately? So hot.”

“His clothes have changed a little too. He’s wearing more accessories now.”

“I copied President Qin’s outfits and made my partner wear them. Though it was definitely a case of seller’s photo versus buyer’s photo, my partner has finally started dressing decently lately. Truly worth celebrating.”

“That Miss Yu who came to the office this morning seems to be pursuing President Qin. Our project is almost over, but she still comes by so often. Clearly, she’s not here for the wine.”

“But that’s only natural… Shuyu, why aren’t you saying anything?”

I was holding my hot latte when I was suddenly called on, and I let out a startled, “Huh?”

“President Qin is very handsome, yes.” I fully affirmed my senior’s good looks.

“You don’t have any thoughts about him? Even Xiao Zhou from the department next door knows to show her face in front of President Qin more often. You’re the noble and beautiful single lady of our department!” This married coworker sounded a little like she was frustrated by my lack of ambition.

I shook my head like a rattle drum.

“No, no, absolutely not. How could President Qin be someone mere mortals like us could lay a finger on?”

He was my direct senior from the same academic lineage.

Everyone in the same mentorship line was basically family. How could I have such improper thoughts about family?

I picked up my latte and was about to flee this den of trouble, only to see Qin Duo happen to pass by.

I stared at his retreating back in silence for a moment. He probably hadn’t heard that, right?
